I think I can recall from the PokerCast that PokerStars Steve mentioned that the number of players shown on the lobby is not how many people are logged in, but seated at tables.

And if someone is seated more than 1 once it counts more than once on the count.. Maybe I am wrong.

I would withdraw most of it and leave a bit on to play. Move down a stake or play with a short roll....better to do that and salvage most of your money in case **** hits the fan. It's not like I have a lot of withdrawal options there so if one or a few go down we're ****ed.

There's plenty more methods of cashing out. My money went straight to my netteller account.

Deposit and Cashout Transactions are currently disabled in your account due to the result of a routine security investigation.

We do not mean to imply any wrongdoing, however, please understand that we have to make security checks routinely to make sure that PokerStars remains a safe and secure environment for its players.

For information on how to clear your account, please email "PokerStars Security" <security@pokerstars.com>."
I am getting this same security investigation message simply because I transferred $100 to a friend at one point. Two of my other friends now have the same security message issue. I wonder if its a massive exercise in stalling on Star's part since they just do not have the money readily available. This sucks. How many others are getting this security freeze when trying to cash out?

Stars/FTP will only close down if it somehow gets seized or it goes bankrupt.
of course, my statements are pure speculation. Even with the information we have, we can't say how much all this will cost. Nor can we say how much impact this will have on PS/FTP business outside US. What happens if 50% of the money will be cashed out? How much money does PS/FTP hold at any given time? Will they be able to pay these out?

We only know one thing for certain, no more online poker for the US players for an unspecified time.

Can someone please confirm that what was meant with this had nothing to do with the DNS updating slowly for some ISPs, still making the .coms accesable in some parts of the world? I really think that is what they were talking about.

Of course, FTP now has .co.uk and Stars has .eu, so they shouldn't go down.

The U.S. Department of Justice released a press release on the indictment, and in it, 11 defendants are named: Isai Scheinberg, Raymond Bitar, Scott Tom, Brent Beckley, Nelson Burtnick, Paul Tate, Ryan Lang, Bradley Franzen, Ira Rubin, Chad Elie, and John Campos.

Is something wrong if I cashed out[ftp], did not receive any confirmation email and have my withdrawal noted in the past transactions not the pending one??

I'm not sure why you think it's funny.
You're obviously a bitter fish who's not smart enough to break even and hates those who outsmart him on every level of poker play.

But I'll tell you what...Anyone who's making a living playing this game is going to be out of this dumpster of a country by next week and going to keep making 10 times more than you'll ever make in your life while travelling at the same time.

Those who were losing players just got saved a lot of money, including you.
These guys were going to have to get a job eventually anyway.

The rest? We'll be fine, thank you very much.

Have fun working your 9 to 5 till you drop dead (in a lot of pain) and going home to your fat ugly wife you hate and retarded kids you wish you never had, lol.

Yes, the most major question imo is how well prepared are FTP and Stars for this? I think they both suspected a bank run-esque scenario was very plausible to happen at some point, and were well prepared. But that is pure speculation obv.
