Seems like the government is just brazenly ****ing people now, and not too bothered about the repercussions.

Anyway, sorry for off-topic rant, but this **** really bothers me.
Our government is smart about it though.
Why do you think they're so open to illegal immigrants? The government knows when people come here from a 3rd world, or poor country, they're going to be very happy here (because this place is better than where they came from). I can't tell you how many cab drivers I talk to in the city (nyc) that tell me "wait, revolution? why? this place is perfect! it's wonderful!". The illegal immigrants are the governments army. They are the ones who will support anything our government does, because it's better than where they came from. It handicaps us. They take our jobs, rally behind our government and have absolutely no reason or drive to fight (and make 18% of our population, and rapidly growing). Granted, they can't vote, but they can sure as hell fight behind the government that's given them a new life and second chance. Sucks for us. And that's only about one out of the million factors we're up against.

Done posting politics though. I just hope we stop taking it up the ass. It's time to fight.

You can't? You're from Sweden right? I am from Europe as well and I can just withdraw money from Pokerstars. Just did a withdrawal and get a confirmation email that the payment is processed. You didn't manage to?

At one point in the QuadJacks stream Dutch Boyd said something on the lines of hope PS/FTP can't pay back everybody so he would feel better about the Pokerspot controversy.

The DOJ have pages and pages with detailed information on how Bitar and Company have committed fraud among other charges. The bribery charges are very serious and they seem to have a profound understanding on how they have done it, with the proof to back it up. There will be repercussions for the people involved.

It's of course very sad that the greed of these few people affects millions of unknowing poker players around the world and especially in the US, but please don't make it out to be some sort of a crusade against the poker community. The DOJ are treating this as just as it should; major corporations have committed corporate crimes.

To all those flaunting there fancy law degrees and claims that "they have beaten DOJ attorneys in court", please stop. Even if it is true, from all the information that has been released, the DOJ has been following this for a while and has all the information they need to win this case.

I would also like to say that I don't think there is need for the people to go crazy and start panic-withdrawing all their money. It makes no difference if you withdraw them now because the payment processers are being charged and seized as well, so you are probably lucky if you receive your money, but in any case your money is likely safe, even if you won't be able to withdraw them immediately. The government won't seize the players funds', if anything they'll seize the rake that was used to commit these crimes.

The Scheinberg family, which controls the world’s second largest online gaming site, PokerStars, is about to make one of the largest exits, if not the largest ever, by Israeli businesspeople.

“The Times” reports that PokerStars founder Isai Scheinberg is “understood to have appointed NM Rothschild, the City merchant bank, to sell or float PokerStars at a price of more than $2 billion (£1.2 billion).”

Although a flotation of PokerStars is possible, the Scheinberg family probably prefers selling the company. “The Times” writes, “City analysts believe the huge growth in internet gambling is likely to make PokerStars attractive to both virtual and physical rivals.”

“The Times” says one potential merger partner of PokerStars is 888 Holding plc (LSE:888), the world’s largest online gambling company, controlled by the Shaked and Ben-Yitzhak families. 888 Holding declined to comment. "

Well, I'm using NETeller when I withdraw from Stars. I'm not really sure why, but I'm still not quite sure about the taxation from Stars, so I'm using an international wire now. When I try to withdraw, I put in the amount and when I press submit nothing happens. I have no idea why.

Yeah, you're probably right. I jumped the wagon myself but in truth, DOJ doesn't really **** around and you have to do something pretty serious to get on its radar.

Assuming DOJ is in the right, my only concern is why they did it so suddenly on all 3 sites. Are the 3 connected? As little as I understand law, you don't really arrest 3 thieves who robbed 3 different banks and say you're all related - you arrest them individually. So I'm confused why all 3 were treated as 1.

I'm also a little concerned about the fact that DOJ did not seem to care about how the players and the players' finances would be treated. If a criminal is arrested or charged with a crime he's guilty off, why would he turn over all his cash to the bank if he's safe overseas?

That's weird, it worked for me using wire.

The DOJ is very selective in who they prosecute. Remind me of how many bank execs have gone to jail for blowing up the economy while stealing millions? Exactly....

But yes, if crimes have been committed, by all means prosecute. But it's crazy that the so-called "land of the free" can't log on to their home computer and play poker for money in the privacy of their own homes. Sad and pathetic, actually.

If you do something do it right. Use the instead of whining here. Mods act on reports, they don't read every thread all the time.

QuadJacks stream commentator describing Tzvetkoff as epitome of young rich Vegas douchebag. Solid discussion.
