Re: *** Durrrr Challenge: Stage I; Patrik Antonius - IN RUNNING THREAD ***

Cliff notes for first day:
  • Play started today, 1541 hands played, durrrr up 134K.
  • Full Tilt created 8 PLO tables for the challenge. Find the tables under Omaha Hi, "durrrr Challenge"
  • The extra tables are so they can change tables if they want to when both stacks get too big on a particular table, dropping them back to 100BB each ($40K). We've heard 275BB and 250BB as being the amount they want to stay under.
  • durrrr offered $50 each to up to 10 qualified people to track in PT, "just to make sure there's no confusion". Details here. It wasn't clear if he meant just to send him today's hand histories or for the duration.
I think that's all the important stuff.

Cliff Notes Update for 2/19

See yesterday's Cliff Notes here including the HSDB link for graphs and hand histories.
  • There was no challenge play today, but the players were seen agreeing to meet tomorrow morning for another session. Evidently Patrik is still in Thailand which is 12 hours ahead, so it looks like they plan to start around 7AM EST again.
    Quote:
Patrik Antonius: tom lets play tomorrow around same time?
durrrr: ya sounds good, long as theres not a ton of 500/1k
    running
durrrr: i obv would rather 4 tbl 500/1
    Patrik Antonius: deal
    Patrik Antonius: gl cya
    durrrr: than 2/4
    durrrr: cya
  • durrrr was referring to his very own new 500/1000 tables created for him on Full Tilt, where he was playing today. He now has a named table at these limits for PLO HU, NLHE 6-max, and HA 6-max (mixed game). The PLO table is "deep" meaning a $200,000 buyin. These comments were seen today on the deep table:
    Quote:
    Ziigmund: durrrr
    durrrr: wtup
    Ziigmund: whenu continue challenge?
    durrrr: idk
durrrr: not when theres 3 500-1k obv
    Mark Vos: gay
Mark Vos: lower the buy in
durrrr: made it jus for u mark
    durrrr: =)
    Mark Vos (Observer): lol figured
  • Today Full Tilt created a real status page here, which has some interesting detail and will probably be the definitive source for the standings.
  • durrrr clarifies his $50 offer for PT tracking here.
  • Lots of railbirds are speculating on a possible sponsorship deal between durrrr and Full Tilt after all this attention, and since Full Tilt has created new tables and status pages for the challenge.
I think that's all the important stuff.

Re: *** Durrrr Challenge: Stage I; Patrik Antonius - IN RUNNING THREAD ***

Turns out there was no challenge play today.

durrrr was up all night playing on his new 500/1000 tables and then went to bed about 9:30 AM EST, after arranging with Patrik to play more of the challenge match tomorrow.
Quote:
durrrr: gg i gtg
durrrr: i forgot to give u warning i guess sry
durrrr: but i think we were evenish neway
Patrik Antonius: np i was about to quit soon as well
durrrr: kk cool
durrrr: if no games tomorrow, abt 5-6am my time wanna play
some?
durrrr: im gonna be waking up late
durrrr took about at least a half million off Ziigmund and at one point it appeared he loaned him $300K to keep playing (I could be misinterpreting):
Quote:
durrrr: wtup
Ziigmund: lets continue omaha
durrrr: ok, i rly want to sleep soon
durrrr: ill give ya 1hr or so
durrrr: since i ran so good
durrrr: but gonna need to sleep @ some pt

(then at the HU table)

Ziigmund: send me 300
Ziigmund: back today l8r
durrrr: ok, i rly need to go soon tho
durrrr: sent
When durrrr finally quit for the day they had this exchange:
Quote:
Ziigmund: tilt
durrrr: im dead tired
durrrr: sry =(
Ziigmund: me not
durrrr: i tried to stay a while
durrrr: haha id guess that much
durrrr: we can play tomorrow obv
Ziigmund: cmon
Ziigmund: give me 30min
Ziigmund: then im fine
durrrr: i alrdy gave u 2hrs bud sry
durrrr: 2hrs more
Ziigmund: 20min
Ziigmund: and thats it
durrrr: if u find someone to bring me coffee
durrrr: id stay 1more hour
durrrr: but my roomies are asleep
durrrr: and no room service
Ziigmund: wait i call to cole south
durrrr: sick tilt
durrrr: lol
durrrr: hes in virginia
durrrr: wont get here in time unless he drives rly fast
Ziigmund: what about mr Raptor
durrrr: texas
durrrr: im in boston
Ziigmund: pumppu?
Ziigmund: lets flip last money then
Ziigmund: 660k flip
durrrr: lol i jus xfered u
durrrr: def dont wanna flip
durrrr: + im on dswing
durrrr: =(
durrrr: sry
durrrr: neway gg play tomorrow
Ziigmund: then we have to play 15min
Ziigmund: and im gladf
Then durrrrr leaves all tables and Ziigmund keeps playing Patrik on two tables.

Re: *** Durrrr Challenge: Stage I; Patrik Antonius - IN RUNNING THREAD ***

Cliff Notes for 2/21
  • durrrr and Patrik played two sessions on Saturday. After a short 30 minute session beginning at 1:54PM EST durrrr hit his highest lead so far in the challenge, up $171K after a total of 1633 challenge hands played.
  • durrrr takes a lunch break and then plays some $500/$1000 HA with several other players. durrrr has told Patrik a couple times that when he can get action at the bigger tables then challenge play will just have to wait.
  • Challenge play resumes at 4:50 PM. They stop for a 20 minute break to watch the Gus Hansen boxing match on gushansentv.com. This is Hansen's new poker TV web site, which is worth checking out. The boxing match was streamed live as a stunt to promote the new site. Right now Gus is replaying and narrating some of his recent high stakes play on Full Tilt, which is very cool.
  • They play until 9PM, ending with a total of 2921 hands played and Patrik now up $56K. So Patrick won $227K in this four hour session, taking the lead again. This is the first time a session has ended with Patrick in the lead.
  • They agree to meet again Sunday around noon.
    Quote:
    Patrik Antonius: im done
    durrrr: nice win, gg
durrrr: wanna try to play tomorrow?
    Patrik Antonius: ty gg
Patrik Antonius: i'll sleep maybe 12 hours now
    durrrr: im goin out tonight
Patrik Antonius: y i wanna play everyday when theres nothing else going on
durrrr: so probly wont wanna play until like idk noonish tomorrow
durrrr: 15hrs or w/e id guess
    Patrik Antonius: cu tomorrow
durrrr: but if i drink too much
    durrrr: then no game
    durrrr: lol
    Patrik Antonius: lol
    durrrr: we'll c, cya
  • At the time of this post (11:45AM Sunday) Patrik is playing on several high stakes tables on Full Tilt but no sign of durrrr yet.

Re: *** Durrrr Challenge: Stage I; Patrik Antonius - IN RUNNING THREAD ***

Cliff Notes for 2/22
  • Just after 12:00 noon Sunday durrrr and Patrik played 4 hands in their challenge match, with no significant change in standings. That was all the challenge match play for the day, and the last hand was a gimme to "even up the blinds" per durrrr's suggestion when they decided to stop.
  • Instead, they played much of the afternoon on the $500/1K tables with other high-stakes regulars. Patrik was killing both the PLO and NLHE tables, and left for the day $685K richer (per HSDB). Both players have said if good action is available on the higher stakes tables that they will postpone their challenge play.
  • durrrr was last seen Sunday night playing $5/$10 LHE on two tables with Full Tilt red pro Brandon Adams. Practice? Coaching maybe?
  • No word on when Patrik and durrrr might meet up Monday, but early morning is likely if Patrik is staying in Thailand.

Re: *** Durrrr Challenge: Stage I; Patrik Antonius - IN RUNNING THREAD ***

Cliff Notes for Monday 2/23
  • Challenge play began today at 3:11 PM EST, starting with Patrik up $56K from prior sessions. Patrik was waiting at the tables, and since there were no $500/$1k games active when durrrr showed up on Full Tilt, they began right away.
  • Within the first 15 minutes durrrr had won over $125K ($104K of it in one hand) to retake the lead in the match. Then at about 3:50 PM they had this exchange:
    Quote:
    durrrr: theres 2 500/1ks running
durrrr: u want to play here or there?
    durrrr: 3 500/1k now
durrrr: id rather play there if u dont care
durrrr: but since ur stuck ill play here if u want
    durrrr: ur call
Patrik Antonius: can u send me some $$$?
    durrrr: 300 otw
    Patrik Antonius: sounds good
durrrr: lets play here 15more minutes then 500/1k ok?
    durrrr: that ok w/ u?
    Patrik Antonius: k
So then durrrr jumped on 2 of the higher stakes tables while continuing to 4-table against Patrik at the same time!
  • They quit after 3 hours 10 minutes with durrrr up $207K for the session, and up $150K overall for the match after four sessions (not counting the 4-hand $0 aborted session yesterday). At one point Patrik regained a small lead after some big hands in the second hour, but then lost big in the third and final hour of the session with durrrr taking down a $167K pot and a $165K pot. Those hands can be replayed on HSDB (if the site is back up). As durrrr left he said this:
    Quote:
    durrrr: gg ima go lift
durrrr: ill try to wakeup @ a dece time tomorrow if yer awake, no promises tho
  • There was a lot of speculation on the forum today about the maximum buy-in on the challenge tables after people commented that durrrr had sat down with more than $40K. One poster showed a screenshot of the current buy-in screen showing min $40K and max $100K, and another poster showed a older screenshot with an uncapped max. So evidently the table settings changed somewhere along the way, and another poster recalled durrrr saying they were messed up when they were first created. The $40K/$100K makes sense considering the Challenge rules, where a reload is required if you drop below $30K and a table change is optional if both players have over $100K stacks.
  • They've played a total of 3952 hands so far, averaging just over 300 hands/hour, and they've averaged 3 hours per session. At this rate, if they do 6 sessions a week, the match will last about 9 or 10 more weeks.
