isaac, is the unexpected sn+ rewards only issue (intentional miscommunication) u do worry about? i mean, isn't it more disappointing that amaya getting rid of sn+ bonuses at all (30% cap, eff rake increase), trying to eliminate high stakes, draining cash/tourney pools to a casino-like spin'n'gos? and doing it in a such impudent way

Lol at the sycophants with short memories and zero perspective lapping this PR crafted crap up.

At least there are some ITT who have a clue what's really going on.

Of those that are also pros (bakes borg Limon etc) are the only ones apparently equipped to deal with the real world should they need to . No wonder so many of you are so desperate to keep playing poker full time. If this is how u read intentions/situations ....you are truly gonna be ****ed out there

Poker and its dark side...the darkside most recs are oblivious to:

Kinish got it right... poker players are scumbags.

When I get above 2/5 I will work to expose you colluding pieces of ****. **** you and your friendship. No friends on the poker table.

Not good enough to beat me? Oh well... not getting the cards Im getting? Oh well... I'm not going to work with you or use the fact that I know you to intentionally fleece newcomers/non regs that come to my table.

Online poker is full of you colluding scumbags. For somebody to claim that knowing who you are playing while others at the table do not (and the reasoning behind said scumbag using another account) isnt a "big deal" is insane and just shows the character of the person asserting that nonsense. F U Darkside Nerds.

Scumbags

Agreed.. unfortunate the timing seems it leaves plenty of angles for assumed legitimacy.

Also,

Soooo righteous Limon is posting ITT...F U too scumbag..

Sorry Isaac but you not saying anything about BH, regardless of the childish assertion that "waaaa, other people knew not just me, they did it too", tells me quite a bit about your character. Couldn't care less if randoms/fanboys think youre a nice guy.

random thoughts, if ike and kanu and some other successful highstakes players could get together and speak about the negative changes that are happening with pokerstars, ( whats up Chicago joey ehhh papi papi ) and get negative publicity on pokernews etc, perhaps stars could be nice and start using lube on us at least rather than going in dry.

thumbs up to haxton

I think you made a bad move. (I like to be the contrarian)

Not for yourself but for the anonymous pro who has no voice. I guess my question to you would be, what if anything did you do when Pokerstars made the announcement on November 1st? I don’t know your relationship with Pokerstars higher ups or the inner workings of the place so you might have been able to do very little. But what did you do?

Changing the things in the past may have been impossible but you could have worked with pokerstars to set up a way to communicate with the players in a more pro-active, transparent way.

Do you:

A) Break your lease, incur whatever financial penalties are involved or hire a lawyer to get you out of it which may be hard because your landlord being a scumbag isn't a valid reason to break a lease, then rush to find a new place, movers, etc. on short notice.

or

B) Wait 3 months till your lease is up giving you time to figure out what you're going to do.

I very much doubt that Stars wouldn't want to renew him.
bull****. it's not even close to the same situation. he could have left the day they announced these changes but chose not to. the only change that would have come to him is stars would have stopped paying him.this is totally different than the lease situation where you still might have to pay for the place you're currently in and aren't gonna find a new place the next day. nice try though.

stars didn't offer him a contract as they're cleaning house, or offered him a lot less money so he decided to make himself look like a hero to the sheep on here. He can claim whatever he wants hear but it's pretty obvious that happened. Had he quit a few months ago there would have been zero repercussions other than forgoing the remainder of the money on his contract which he collected.

and you people bought it hook line and sinker. to top it off most people praising him and are saying DN should quit would never walk away from the money.

Lol they made it abundantly clear they were going to **** their customers and steal from them. to top it off the email revealing this was leaked or they would have waited even longer.

if they wanted to they could still reverse their decision (they won't) so why leave? after all they might reverse it!

I personally would be surprised if Ike had been receiving a "6-figure salary", which is why I asked him earlier ITT whether he would divulge the financial terms of his now-terminated contract with PS. It's not so much from a gossipy "how much did you make" standpoint, but I think it's reasonable to ask about it in order to help readers assess the magnitude of the sacrifice being made here. It in no way detracts from the symbolic significance of resigning from a company whose integrity you no longer believe in, but it certainly helps inform an understanding of just what's being sacrificed here. There is a difference between walking away from $20,000 vs. $200,000.

Considering how often these high stakes pros are involved in cheating scandals of one kind or another (or silent about them when they know of their existence), these Team Pros seem more trouble than they are worth to the bottom line and growth of Pstars.

hahah no I actually understand bull**** when I see it. Ikes is acting like a martyr and most on here eat it up.Well played by him I guess.People tend to eat that **** up.

Stars has been cutting their deals with lesser know people. The general public has no clue who Ike is so they have no reason to keep him on.

I'm not desperate to be playing poker full time unlike most on here actually and hope to not be playing in 5-10 years. I'm not the one who is going to end up working in Mcdonalds because of these changes like so many on here who have no real money and who think online poker with remain profitable forever and act shocked when things change (and that they're entitled to it.)

To top it off even if him quitting for was for "noble" reasons- who is he quitting for? A bunch of people who had no problem taking advantage of unethical bull**** when it benefited them and who would never walk away from free endorsement money. That's a worthy cause.

Put it this way-if stars offered someone the chance to keep their old sn deal +5% on top of that but everyone else on the site got the new ****ty deal how many would turn that down? Almost everyone would take it regardless of how hard stars was ****ing over everyone else.

I want to preface this by saying I am not on anyones side but the side of reason and logic.
you do make good points. That being said We do not know what is in his contract. or what the stipulations are etc.
If we knew the full details of his contract you could claim half of what you said. He may have had obligations to fulfill and if he didn't could give stars the right to take legal action. Or he could have faced potential consequences for "quitting" too.
Just like we Do not know what was in Kanu's contract that he was able to quit so quickly.

before you spew anything to try and disprove me... show me a team online contract people sign. Show me something that says he WOULD NOT have gotten some sort of repercussions for quitting. Otherwise you are just speculating.

the only thing we can really say with confidence is that IKE could have at least spoken up to make a general vague comment such as: "These changes will definitely hurt SNE players/High volume grinders like myself"
least then, something that vague gives people an idea of what he really thinks (without him saying it)
Much Like negreanus vagueness before he did Joes podcast Which showed he really didn't know much or anything about these issues.

Heck alot of the questions posed in the thread are reasonable to know/ask. I would say odds are he may have had to do something that would involve him being quiet/mum on alot of those questions when he signed with them. (Even for stars assuming he may leave one day they probably have that covered too)

If the contract has lapsed you can't resign as you're no longer in PS employment. You could have resigned when the changes were announced a couple of months ago.

Anyway, refuse their cash but continue to give PS your business and continue to make them money, that'll show them what a mistake the recent changes are.

sorry that I feel entitled to be allowed to play a "skill" game over the internet while no company ****s it up. Not really feeling entitled to money of rec's but I don't really want to play a casino game. Oh and yes there will always be a game to play on the internet to make money, if it's poker or another game I don't know, but there will be one. Sorry that this might hurt your feelings that people make money playing a game

I didn't provide that example to indicate it was exactly the same thing. Rather as an example more people would be familiar with to illustrate breaking a contract isn't necessarily that simple as there are obligations for both parties and consequences for both if they fail to meet those obligations.

This was somewhat confirmed by Kanu when he indicated he expected more sponsored players to break ties with Stars over this as their contracts expired. It's not like he was some employee that could just quit. Not sure how much more I can dumb it down.

I guess if you make up stuff it makes it easier to argue your point so strongly. Or do you have evidence to suggest Haxton is lying besides your cynicism telling you so?
