Not talking about the Brian Hasting and then the SNE/SN steal would have been a big blunder in his shoes considering he isn't paid as much as DN or Jason is.
Totally agree with the very first sentence.

Stars is very quick to clear the air when they seem to be getting smeared. I'd be incredibly shocked if he didn't just turn them down when the subject came up.

well played ike.
You move into an apartment 9 months ago with a 1 year lease. You just found out the landlord is a thief, a pedofile and he likes to spit on chickens. This is not the type of person you want to give your money to so you make the decision to move even though you were planning on renewing your lease.

Do you:

A) Break your lease, incur whatever financial penalties are involved or hire a lawyer to get you out of it which may be hard because your landlord being a scumbag isn't a valid reason to break a lease, then rush to find a new place, movers, etc. on short notice.

or

B) Wait 3 months till your lease is up giving you time to figure out what you're going to do.

I very much doubt that Stars wouldn't want to renew him.

agree with micro roller although I guess confirmation he was offered the same role/pay extended would be good, or rather if he wasn't would be bad? with no inside info I would snap bet he was tho, one of the most respected on their line up (which in case you haven't noticed these days is full of basically unknowns..) plus would be pretty stupid for him to get told he doesn't get an offer then post this since it's obvious ppl will find out

it's easy to say he should snap tell stars etc but when you're actually in that position there's a lot going on, plus as mr said his eventual response was fairly reasonable/apology..

Please can you answer Bakes' question posted in this thread.

to be fair it took some time before it was "clear" they were so stubborn about these changes. there was at least some (perceived) hope until very recently, and resigning say two weeks earlier isn't much of a difference

I don't see a question.. I'm sure he will comment at some point though, even though he has given a pretty reasonable response before already (acknowledge of mistake, apology etc).

Definitely a waste of a 10k post, you should delete it.

I've asked Ike a question, if he wants to answer it, fine. If not, so be it. But I dont want anyone else to answer for him.

Also, Stars has told me in certain terms that the review of Brian Hastings' account has concluded, so feel free to clear the air anytime about things that were constrained months ago

I think this is important and was actually my main question.

Good move, IMO. Don't think anything will occur because of it, but cool to stand up for your beliefs.

FWIW in Monaco, the fact the Noel = Hastings could not have been more clear. It came up repeatedly at the table, especially during/after his marathon session with Ivey. I personally assumed that Stars knew, since it seemed everyone else already did. Josem on twitter confirmed that they it had already been reported. https://twitter.com/pokerjosem/statu...69468655247360

I'm still not sure what Ike should have done. He would be signing up for a ton of headache and bull**** during the busy season for poker when he is playing outrageously high stakes every day for long hours. It's not even unpaid extra work, but given it would cause 100/200 to stop running, it would have been VERY expensive for him.

I respect, but disagree with, your opinion that Ike was clearly in the wrong here (I think Ike's response was quite reasonable). But using this thread as an opportunity to bash him is very inappropriate and not something I respect. What are you hoping to accomplish? I legitimately don't know, are you just looking for an apology?

isn't this credence for bakes being jilted? as if he isn't big time enough to be in the know about multi-accounts?

do agree that bakes is giving ike an inappropriate amount of hate. i heard through the grapevine that renegs giggled during a stream that "he thinks he knows" who NoelHayes is, and didn't Mercier say something in chat that made it obv he knew? (also in a vacuum ike not reporting the MA doesn't seem that bad for reasons you outlined)

It always seemed like Ike was more of a fall guy than a bad guy. In his apology he alluded to the fact that many other people knew of the cheating and the stars investigation and his relationship with stars kept him from releasing all the details. For players at Stars (and the poker community in general) i think its important to AT LEAST know:

1. What stars management knew and when they knew it.

2. What other "team pros" kept the cheating secret.

3. How widespread are the practices he apologized for not immediately confronting.

I am an Ike fan. I respect Ike.

I would like to be as informed as possible about NoelHaystings' multi accounting. If Ike can provide greater transparency now, unencumbered by a p* investigation / contract obligation (as he has suggested he can), then he should.

I think Ike's post is genuine, classy, and well put. One valid question which was asked earlier:

1) did stars make the same offer for 2016 to essentially roll forward your contract? It does matter whether this was an opportunistic post.

Re: the hastings thing people get over it. Go attack Phil Ivey and PA who has almost openly MA. The reason the high stakes pros don't think it's a big deal is because it's not a big deal (relative to all the other BS in the industry). When you hear the top players talk about it, it's obvious they aren't concerned.

I post this as an Ike fan, and believe Ike has more integrity than 99% of poker players.

1) would mean he probably outs people he considers his friends. I would lay heavy odds against it.

2) See #1

#3 is the only reasonable one.

This quote is wrong.

Ike handled Noel Hayestings wrong.

Still today is about him resigning over the stars changes. Sacrificing likely 6 figure salary in todays poker climate. How many other players would do the same?

He have said he can be more open going forward so let him have time to respond while traveling.
