Re: The Reid/Kyl Online Poker Bill Revealed

quote from the article

" The bill also includes a “bad actor” provision that restricts entities that were involved in internet gambling in the US after the enactment of UIGEA in 2006. There will be a five-year block on such operators, unless they can convince a court that no federal or state law was breached during this time. "

we can assume this is full tilt and stars, no ?

The regulations specifically prohibit international player pools in online poker

that's OK, according to tableratings the biggest donks are in the US of A.

but 5 years banning Pokerstars is BS.. they already paid the fine, let them in after 2-3 years... should be enough time for MGM/Caesars etc to set up their own and get a decent customer base.

No international pool really isn't that big a deal, US market by itself is huge and would be plenty soft.

The fact that its opt-in rather than opt-out is what could really hurt the games, can't imagine a majority of US states choosing to opt in.

I think was just total losses. Not losses/player or loss in bb/player. Since on average, poker players lose money (they have to), it makes sense that the country with the most online players loses the most money.

I also agree that the opt in portion of the bill will hurt the total player pool. But certainly Nevada, CA, FL and most of the other big poker states will all opt in. So its mostly states like NY where ppl will be screwed.

Re: The Reid/Kyl Online Poker Bill Revealed

more clarification is needed on the 16% tax

if it is on every hand, that would be one tough rake

don't laugh, because that is close to what is pulled from most parimutual betting
