depending on the golf bet i like dn's side in this. it would seem that DN has alot more stud 8/b expierence then PA.

Didnt' Daniel go cash-broke in the big game, where they play stud 8? PA has not gone broke and also has played with the very best. I know what you mean about DN being a good split pot limit player, but I think PA will be fine.

no...daniel said he was relatively poker broke for the stakes of the big game after a $1.1m loss during the series in 2006 at bellagio where he was on the wrong side of a few $150k cap PLO pots. since that loss he has over $1.3m in tournament winnings and a big chunk of the $2m kirk morrison won at the WPT bellagio championship last year due to staking kirk.

he said a few weeks ago on fcp that he's only played "big" cash twice in the last year and is up about 300k.

even if he's losing money golfing, factor in the above, book and syndicated column income, and his deal with pokerstars and i think he's going to be ok

i agree that while he probably has an edge in stud 8, the terms of the golf bet seem more important.

Depending on the exact circumstances/conditions of the bet, I think Daniel is a favorite in this wager. Some of the Big Game's players, Patrik included, have said that the limit games are still his biggest "weakness" (not to say he is weak in those games, but he is a lot better at NLH/PLO). Not sure about golf. By contrast, particularly in cash games, Daniel is probably one of the best limit players out there, which is not widely known since he is famous for successes in No Limit tournaments.

Except for the big game is 90% limit. And Patrik whooped DN in HU limit hold'em online a few years back at 500/1000.

stud 8/b is daniel's specialty right? i'm going to go off my memory and say that's what it says on barryg's bio page of him.

pa just started learning how to play golf where dn has been uber serious about golf for a while now...i give the edge in golf to dn hands down, the cards part is close.

It's impossible to handicap the golf match w/o knowing stipulations like who's getting strokes, what tees they're playing from, at what course, etc...

As far as the Stud8 goes, I'd say DN has a pretty reasonable edge (and by reasonable, I mean the better part of the coinflip like 55/45ish to not quite 60/40). It's his self-professed best game, confirmed by other high stakes players who would know. I'm pretty sure he made quick work of Barry G during his challenge match days playing Stud8 after losing twice to him in Stud High in what has to be a similar betting structure/stakes.

Not sure what the golf stipulations are, but unless they're skewed drastically to PA, I def. like Daniel's side of this action.

pa is way more athletic and can prolly pick up golf alot easier than dn who swings like a awkward woman.
