Preet Bharara says FTP is "fixed"

"The indictment alleges how Bitar bluffed his player-customers and fixed the game against them as part of an international Ponzi scheme that left players empty-handed," Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said in a statement.

"The indictment alleges how Bitar bluffed his player-customers and fixed the game against them as part of an international Ponzi scheme that left players empty-handed,"

Doesn't seem at all he is saying the game was rigged. Just saying Ponzi scheme again.

And truth to be told I don't think it was really a Ponzi scheme. Ponzi scheme has a specific definition. This really seems more like a lot of embezzlement and bad management (though of course I know very few details).

But Ponzi scheme sounds better ..... especially after Madoff a few years ago (that was a Ponzi scheme).

Lego I am very suprised that you bought in to this out of context post. The wording by the DOJ was dumb but it is not an accusation that things were rigged. It was a cliche expression. The fix is the accusation that Bitar never planned to pay the players their money.

Hope they lock this really dumb thread.

A new thread is not needed for this garbage.

It's fairly obvious that he is referring to the fact that they stole customer's money IMO. Non poker players often misuse poker terminology and ideas.

That is exactly what I said. Isn't that exactly what I said?

Ok, I also put in that Preet Bharara prove it part. But I don't believe that is what he meant.

Even in my first post I didn't think that was likely what he meant, though as I just said above I put that part in cause I don't like what happened. But then especially after reading the article I posted in my second post of the thread and I thought it was quite clear he did not mean that.

In fact I'm going to edit my first post now to remove that part.

EDIT:

Actually I just plain deleted that first post.
