As a longtime PT3 user I'm glad to see they're breathing some new life into the app with a major bump:

http://preview.pokertracker.com/

(posted earlier tonight on twitter)

Their slow-release marketing is a bit of tease though. They're promising a cheap upgrade price (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/45...r-4-a-1052323/) which I think is an absolute necessity in this climate.

Now they just need a Seiborg endorsement/commercial.

really hoping for mac support right out of the gate.

they'd make a killing with built-in proxy/VPN for US players, tunnelling through a server in Canada, and you get free set of Canadian utility bills and identification with every purchase.

Werd.

Kind of assume Mac out of the gate because PT3's final versions had it.

With the death of online poker in the US, PT3 and HEM are both going to be affected negatively.

I am still under the belief that these softwares should not be allowed. It does not matter for me now, but I did not believe in these softwares and never will.

I don't really think this is the point of the thread.

The pricing details haven't been set yet, but the upgrade cost will be very reasonable. Anyone who purchases PT3 today (or after June 10th) will get the upgrade to PT4 for free.

The goal is to have a public beta out in Q3 this year (which spans from July - September), commercial sales are slated for Q4.

Seriously PT3 was a piece of ass compared to PT2. It was just a money grab launch filled in later.

Unless there the upgrade is like $5 **** it and **** the developers. ( And I sincerely hope it's good, as I bought PTH/PTO and PTS, only to get the steaming pile of PT3 that I used for <5 minutes ).

Been using PT3 for years. Sooo happy with all ins and outs of the software and the support is one of the fastest, most pleasant and helpful I've experienced online (<3 Kraada).

I sound like some kind of endorser, but in reality I'm only a really, really satisfied customer who can't wait to upgrade to PT4.

I'd been a long-time power-user and supporter of the PT brand, but I finally threw in the towel with PT3...HEM's support / response-time just blew them out of the water, and I've been a HEM user ever since. Will be curious to see if PT4 is any different.

Wasn't PT3 made by different guys than pt2 (much less competent ones)? I used pt3 for awhile before I realized it sucked and moved on to HEM. No idea how I'd ever be convinced to go back to them. They had the market cornered and blew it...

I'm a mac user and use parallel desktop b/c it allows HEM. One of my main sites also requires a PC, but HEM is the primary driver. It's just so user friendly and intuitive, love love love HEM.

PT3 is ok though, was always happy with it prior to using HEM.

I started with pt3, but at release HEM was clearly better. I have heard they have made great strides, but not enough to get me to swtich over.

Same. PT has been promising things forever that I got tired of waiting for and made the switch to HEM. I'm definitely not paying for an upgrade to get features that were promised as part of PT3 a long time ago.

remember how awful their launch of pt3 was? I suggest waiting atleast a year after release before purchasing it, or just stay with HEM.
pt3 support was awful. I told my friends to buy it when it came out, and they have regretted it since, along with me. They never had a functional program until almost a year later. however by then everyone was using HEM because their support would answer you in a reasonable time.

PT3 was a ground-up rewrite of the PokerTracker system. PT4 is built on the base we constructed with PT3. As a result, PT4 should be a lot more stable out of the gate than PT3 was, and we plan on having free, open beta testing for any who are interested well prior to putting PT4 on sale.
