I'll accept 2,500 hands if they play higher stakes. a $40,000 win or loss we know isnt really anything to these guys, that's a buy-in at one dwan challenge table. Up the ante and make it exciting. Jungle is playing 200/400 in one challenge and 50/100 in another, this one is so dwarfed.
No way it is better than Dwan Challenge. 2 sessions from Dwan is about the whole of this showdown. And you can clearly tell who the better player is. Haxton better than Blom? Can't tell with only 2500 hands.

It's a factor, sure, but when edges are so small then variance over 2.5k hands will often be a bigger factor. That's why I don't want to bet on this match. In a longer match I'd put my money on jungleman.

So.... where's Isi gonna get that 150K, he probably does have it, but he's playing 3/6 PLO right now and last time I saw him play 2x 5/10 tables 20-50BB and when he busted it auto reloaded to a weird amount which I assumed is what was left on his stars account.

Staked by stars ?

Is it so hard for you to understand someone having money outside of their poker account?

But ofc he is staked by stars, his sponsorship isn't worth nothing.

lol isildur is not staked by stars in the online games especially at 50/100. He is staked for live tournaments though

Re: PokerStars SuperStar Showdown III: Isildur1 v Daniel Cates

The odds given here are funny.
I don't think there's much edge on either side over 2.5k hands. If someone's willing to give you 1.5 to 1 on eithe side it's prolly a good bet.

how do you know?
i guess he's staked for the showdowns, at least partially. i dont see stars making such a big hype on these showdowns otherwise - it would look pretty bad for them if viktor couldnt effort to play on those in case he goes busto

Someone asked him this in chat when he wasn't reloading, he said something like "nah I have some behind".

Re: PokerStars SuperStar Showdown III: Isildur1 v Daniel Cates

eazygoing, as he have done before he escrows the money before the announce the next challenger. Therefor they are safe until the brawl. He actually were playing short had to split tables etc while playing some HU like a day before the TonyG challenge b/c he said he doesnt have that much in account due to escrowed $150k.

Most likely he busto'd his acc, but still have the money escrowed, i.e. not account busto rly.
