This concerns me. Hard to tell if Amaya is actually trying to do something for the regs they screwed over, or if this is just another step on the way to screw them over further.

if there's any action in this challenge, the people profiting the most from it might well be struggling regs who for once get to enjoy their regular games without the crushing regs.

They're doing something that they believe is in their best financial interest. Do you really think Amaya gives a **** about the regs they pissed off?

LOL, this is the worst idea ever. Regs aren't going to be playing vs other regs in the lower stake promo. In the higher stake promo, only the end bosses would play and that will cause all the other regs to not play. PokerStars has lost their mind.

$100k is more than enough to guarantee there will be action. How much action depends on the structure and how big the egos are.

It will probably have to be a zoom type format to prevent the collusion that would inevitably happen in a rake free + leaderboard structure.

They are doing it because stars knows how much of bum hunters the regs are so they figured give them free rake, let them make some of the regs go broke.

Simple... less regs playing, better for the rec players

Why are you guys are so negative?the ego in poker is insanely huge I think that the traffic will be over expectations...the added prizes will do the trick for the bad regs...also this is experimental maybe on the next season will do something new and be even better

in case you missed it, most people are not primarily caring so much about this challenge, but rather the general direction stars is clearly heading for.

I don't have self illusions I know that amaya is a multi billion corporation and don't care about regs but we don't have to be so negatives and rejectives about everything they do I agree that most of the things they do is catastrophicals but come on show some chills

the real question should be but why show some chills? If anything amaya has proved over and over they will stick it in everybody who is in their player pool. Nobody saying this isnt good for the players, but everybody I think is trying to figure out their angle, and or how its all gonna come crashing down via the introduction of new rewards program.

So I would say we are cautiously optimistic keyword being cautious as I dont think anybody is chilled out with where poker is headed under that management (which is a fair feeling IMO)

I see your account is new therefore perhaps you are a recreational or new player and have not seen all of the damage Amaya has brought to the poker ecology over the past few years. They deserve zero kudos and praise before this promotion happens , if it runs well and ends up being a massive success then great, lets give them a high five and hope they continue but anything they have done that could be seen as a positive has always come with a backhand of rake hikes or VIP reward cuts or anti reg table changes / player limitations. They deserve all the scrutiny they get and I think it is good for people to try to hold them accountable (though they have shown they give very little ****s about 2+2 communitys opinions the last couple of years besides mtt events bryan (who has recently quit) and their software rep)

I am new to poker indeed but I understand that the games become more and more regish that they milk from the rake as much as possible without to try to improve their services but we need to support moves like this
