So now PS has stopped PTR from open selling HH...what is stopping anyone from selling HH secretly?

PTR are going to offer an 'Opt-in' service like they do on Sharkscope with SnG's: http://pokerupdate.com/news/poker-table-ratings-plans-to-offer-opt-in-service-for-poker-stars-players/

I doubt many at 100nl+ will opt in, and you'd imagine no real fish at SSNL stakes + will opt in which is obviously good for the games.

Why can't they incorporate an OPT-OUT instead of an OPT-IN feature?

PS TOS only allows opt-in.

agreed. I'm surprised others don't see this.

The only reason I know that stars just did this was because I was looking up the confirmed botters that ptr said was botting. Sure enough, their profiles are blocked for viewing now. So we will never know who is actually a bot.

Well... At least you got the good ol pokerstars security. Everyone knows that they catch all of the bots

Spoiler:

you really think people who are botting will actually opt in?

I know if i was botting i wouldn't...

The superusers at Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet were initially identified by players' personal PokerTracker databases, not PTR or any other mass datamining source. Similar events took place at Pitbull Poker.

I can't think of any cases of PTR being used to initially identify any superusers. Can anyone share a link to such a situation?

pokerstars "might as well" ban pt3 and hm2. These things are bad for the games, but I doubt many people would agree because they use it thus its a "conflict of interest" to those said folks.

I think your objection might be more towards HUDs rather than the tracking software. At least I hope that is the case. Mainly cause some people use that software to track wins and loses.

I think anyone who doesn't want their information to be shown, botters or grinders will opt out.

yes, that is my case. I didn't make myself clear enough. I like tracking my winnings and losses. The hud on the other hand... I use it but it does give me an unfair advantage but hey, its poker.

Its only an unfair advantage if noone else can easily buy/use the HUD software. The product is out there...anyone can use it if they choose to.
Now PTR has stopped selling HH, that will create an unfair environment.

The fact of the matter is that there are just so many ways to run any sort of "banned" hud software and have zero chance of being detected, that it doesn't make sense to ban anything that's available. This will only be bad for recreational players.
