I think this is where pokerstars has slipped up because if they put less insulting awards in the chests then they would probably get away with a big effective rakeback decrease . Like you say a lot of users will be mesmerized by the shiny new chests. But after opening chest after chest with T$0.10 and 7 starscoins inside then even the least observant customer is going to start thinking wait a minute these chests are a scam

Chests are not as efficient as spins because the chest opening animation is unfortunately lacking the 'so close to a huge prize but narrowly missing it, better luck next time' graphical effect.

Instead of doing true R&D as promised by Baazov at some earnings conference call (Q3 2015, iirc), and making a truly addictive reward scheme, Stars has appropriated rakepayers' money and come out with this dull chest nonsense instead

When I drug myself up with caffeine, I can do better R&D on a single day than what Amaya has managed in the year to date.

The traffic in the plo zoom pools have actually increased since chests rolled out. Not sure if its b/c people are back from WSOP.

Anyone else seeing this in their games?

I think I'm def one of the rec fun players stars has been saying it'll look out for and I can only agree with above sentiment. Have opened about 6-7 chests so far and prizes are pathetic.
My best score was about 15 coins n a 10c tourney ticket and although I don't play anything close to high stakes Iv never played a 10c tourney in my life. I play maybe one or two games a day and they're mostly in the $10 range. How is a 10c tourney ticket a reward of any kind?

lol never thought I'd say this, but even 888 had a better deal for recs when they changed their system last year. at least you would get a spin on that wheel every day (no playing required) and often win a ticket to 3000$ freeroll where you could win like 60c or something. at stars you play 3k hands and then they give you 17 cents.

I was talking about people who occasionally play the lowest microstakes. stars' system is equally ****ty for all stakes, it always gives you meaningless rewards for your stakes.

Stars has beyond outdone themselves this time.

Chest idea is actually pretty good. Had we still had 30-40% RB it would've been really cool.

But this is just so so sad.

Makes me super positive bout my future in business thou

But yeah, never going back to Stars. And from what i hear, not many other whales like me will ever do.
