Spurious,

97% is only an indicative stat, and means far less then you assume given it was likely done by a hitman.

Recently, Oscarsson’s father appeared on a television program to seek justice. At the same time, an outpouring of support has come from around the world, as Sveriges Radio noted that acquaintances from his childhood, college days, and the business world characterized him as a “very well-liked, popular, generous, cheerful, and very multifaceted person.”

An article that appeared in Bluff Europe shortly after the August murder raised the possibility of a hired gun: “Whilst details/sources still remain uncertain, word is out that a 20 year-old man by the name of Andreas Oscarsson was shot down last year in the exact same town in Sweden.” It was believed that the wrong Oscarsson was killed, leading to the August murder."

[...]

"While it was originally not released where Oscarsson was shot or how many times he was hit, the Swedish news outlet revealed that he was struck six times by “a gun with a silencer.” Neither his father nor others in what Sveriges Radio described as a “densely populated area” heard gunfire, leading to the theory that a silencer was used. He was found shot to death on August 3rd in his bed. Oscarsson was not involved in the day-to-day duties of PokerListings at the time, having stepped away from his role when his child was born two years ago.

The news took many in the industry by surprise, including posters on the popular TwoPlusTwo online poker forum. One member, who lives nearby, explained, “Police have been talking on the radio about it saying that it’s quite probably [something] from his past that has caught up to him in this unfortunate way. I had no idea that he founded PokerListings though.”

Yes it is, altough he was a member of X-TEAM (undergroup to Hells Angels in sweden), and was shot in a gang-war, has nothing to do with this.

97% clearance rate in Germany? Sounds like there is a lot of innocent people getting convicted if you ask me.

I dont have any expertise on that, but with DNA the chance of someone being wrongfully convicted for murder is really low.

People don't get killed like this for no reason. Something tells me he did something, somewhere along the line in his business life that came back and bit him. He was probably a great father and husband in his personal life, but something is sour on the business end. Very sad.

Wow, I didn't know violence in Sweden was so bad (particularly when most Euro coutnries are very anti-gun). This article alone just goes to show that this type of violent behavior will only increase, not just here in the US, but in the world, as well fall into economic decline.

RIP

Next week will start a trial in Stockholm in connection with the murder of the 36-year-old poker millionaire in Trollhättan, Sweden last summer. Police suspect that the man was murdered because he would testify in the trial.

"The police suspect he was murdered because he would testify"

The murdered man, who ran a successful poker site on the net, would have testified in the trial which starts now.

The trial deals with serious blackmail and it is a 44-year-old man who was charged.

A Swedish company that, among other things, is owned by Stefan Bengtsson, a major shareholder in H & M, bought in to the now murdered husband's business for six years ago, reported Aftonbladet.

But when Bengtssons company wanted to sell its stake in the poker market, the company had collapsed because of new laws in the U.S. that made it forbidden to advertise on poker. Thus the depreciation of the company.

In connection with the sale came the now indicted 44-year-old up and tried to recover the 14 million kronor, which he claimed was between portrays primarily. Among other things, he took the help of Thomas Moller, Hells Angels past president of Sweden.

Stefan Bengtsson has himself renounced all claims against the poker company and is not suspected of any crime and it remains to examine at whose mandate 44-year-old engaged in extortion.

The man who was murdered in Trollhättan, Sweden last summer, would thus have testified in the trial. And police suspect it was to prevent this that he was murdered.

No way this wont be solved.

Over the past 10 years about 15 lawyers, landowners, barowners and other businessman had been killed here in amsterdam. They where all part of a big network (kind of maffia). The police didnt solve ANY of these cases. Homicide is very rare in holland but these guys where professionals (hells angels where also involved, they know this but cant proof it). They usually did it during the day in crowded places, mostly from a motorcycle or the broke into a house. They gotten away with all of them but one. (where the killer got caught cuz he did something stupid, but he won't say who gave hime the assignement).

Its realy hard to get these professionals if the system that is supposed to get them isnt made for those kind of murders. Murders in western/northern european country's are not crime related but personal matters and there are very few, 12 on average every year in Holland

I witnessed one of these murders where the victim's 11yr old daughter was sitting right next to him in the car. These guys have no heart, this girl is ****ed for live, but business is business. The Victim owned a bunch of restaurants. It happened at 10am and I was about to go to school, A motorcycle pulls off in front of the car on a crowded square and empty's his automatic (or semi, i dont know/dont care) on this guy and drives off, the girl crawled on her father while he was still shooting to protect him but she luckely didnt get hit.

Noone knows where he went, no one knows about the motives and everytime someone shows up in these investigastions its the wrong guy or too small a fish too worry about....

Sorry, this has nothing to do with it but the methods reminded me of this case. If you look at it from the outside it looks pretty clumsy but its realy smart. And I think its unlikely a policecorps in a country where homicide rates are so low has the cappacaties to solve this kind of complex things.

Wheres columbo when you need him...

I wish the family all the best and hope they will get some piece of mind!
