speaking as an ukranian, it's disturbingly easy to get in contact with a hitman here, and hits happen quite often and if that murder really was a hit, chances are very very small police find out since he mostly was from russia or the baltic countrys and most murders that are found out are from persons very close to the victim and because of personal affairs and not business related, sometimes here happens murders and to police even knows what crime syndicate did it but they wont/can't do jack **** about it, I guess the situation is much better/less coruppt in northern europe but still....

And how incompetent would the police have to be not to ask the child what happened. I'm sure they have the potential to get useful information, such as how many intruders, their gender, perhaps some key words in any conversation etc.
