Re: Poker on Ritalin

The online games would be sick tough if everyone had access to A-games.. I can barely write a paragraph normally w/o dazing off or losing confidence in what I'm trying to say and normally play 4 tables at a time. With Adderall I can throw massive walls of text out in a coherent manner, and play 12+ tables w/o feeling pressured at all... My results and confidence skyrocket.

People who abuse A-games are typically the same ones who will abuse anything.. You can't just take one out of the blue and say, "ah man I can't eat or sleep." Well no **** Sherlock, it takes time for your body to adjust, to learn how to sleep and eat under it's influence..

This is where all meth-heads run astray - YOU CANNOT REPLACE SLEEP OR FOOD WITH ANY DRUG!!!

When you start to crash, bite the bullet and get something to eat and sleep for a few hours... If you don't have the self control to do this then stimulants aren't for you.

Re: How many of you use Adderall, Ritalin etc. for playing?

I take Adderall "as prescribed" by my physician and it has resulted in an incredible improvement in my life.

I feel terrible for CRAI but one anecdotal story isn't exactly conclusive. Not like, say, a documented empirical study. And as far as I know there haven't been any documented studies that even indicate, much less prove, that Adderall causes mental deterioration or "brain damage". I have to wonder if there weren't other mitigating causes that might account for CRAI's decline in cognitive function? If anyone does know of such studies that I am not aware of please inform me so I don't end up losing IQ points. I personally need all I have.

Prescription drugs are like anything else; they can be beneficial and or they can be harmful. If taken as directed and monitored by a physician there is absolutely nothing wrong with them and in many cases they can work virtual miracles. However, like everything from water to wine there exists the potential for abuse. (Water, really. A couple of months ago a woman died after drinking too much water at a radio show contest.)

I haven't had any of the problems I've heard about associated with Adderall. No problem sleeping, eating (though it does decrease appetite, you just have to 'remember' to eat), no excess or increased urination, and definitely no problems thinking. In fact, it improves concentration and eliminates boredom. For the first time in 40 years I don't hate work, or the tedious boring chores of everyday life.

For those of you taking Adderall in order to play poker better, how many milligrams do you take? I'm not judging, merely curious. I have a set amount, which is not the maximum allowable, and I take it spread out over the day. My doctor warned me that exceeding a certain amount could cause a psychotic break. Which doesn't sound like something I'd like to experience.

Half the circuit pro's are probably on blow or some type of stimulant. You wonder where they go when they dissappear from the table for extended periods of time. Sniff Sniff. I prefer Xanax as I don't enjoy being jittery and having shrunken balls when I play poker.

i take a 10 or 15mg capsule everymorning with my vitamins. its time released so it lasts through out the day. I tried taking a normal pill once but it made my heart race way to much.
