Hey Tuma, just so you know, I was only joking with you (I assumed your post was a joke, but now I'm not 100% sure). Meditation is cool, whatever works for you man.

How does a poker player relax after a tough day at the office?

a) rub & tug joint
b) full service "spa"
c) wodka & weed & yayo & pills & needles & ...
d) all of the above

Spoiler:
A truly skilled poker player will freeroll all of the above by playing the hooker and or the dealer 4 rollz

Aren't redundant questions typical of any legit survey design? Been a while since I took a research methods elective. If you sway one way and then 10 questions later answer the same question differently, the data isn't very reliable.. something along those lines.

Cool survey, OP. I got past the halfway marker and my phone crashed... can't say I'll finish it. glglgl

Gave up on the survey 'about halfway through.' I'm sure there's a psychological reason behind it, but way too many of the questions were redundant and asking the same thing.

Last call guys! We have almost reached our goal in terms of responses required. It would be great if we could get a few more before we close the survey!

I want to thank everyone for participating and/or providing feedback for the project.

I’ll be back soon with results!

Lost connection when about 75% done. When I got back I had to take the whole survey again. That ain't going to happen

The questions about changing your thinking when experiencing negative emotions might lead to some incorrect conclusions as, at least for me, its not about changing negative thoughts into positive ones but instead creating distance between myself and my negative thoughts; acknowledging them without identifying with them.

Yeah, the downside of the survey not keeping any identifying information/not requiring google login is that you cannot pick up where you left off. Thanks for attempting to participate though

I see your point, however, I am not sure if that what you are describing is an entirely distinct strategy. If I understand it correctly, the process of creating distance between yourself and your negative thoughts has to involve some degree of reinterpreting the emotional trigger by thinking that maybe it's not as negative/catastrophic/threatening as initially perceived. Thus, you are still in a sense "changing the way you think" about the situation.

"Changing the way you think" and "changing your thinking" are two different things as the first is the process and the second is the content of thinking. I know its nit picky but it did affect my responses.

Anyway, best of luck with the study. I'm sure the psychological profiles of the poker community at large is fascinating. Can't wait to hear what you find out!

Hi guys, I hope you are willing to help another player out. My survey is for pokerplayers only (no matter what level) and testing risk tolerance and entrepreneurial intention. It takes about 10minutes

OP, do you need to be a relatively current online player? either professional or recreational.

or is it ok to fill out survey if you played regular online poker for a number of years in the past?

To everyone asking about results, I will definitely post a summary of results once data collection and analysis is over.
The folks who put in the effort to compete the survey probably deserve an update.
