Re: Poker Player Brad Booth stole ~$28,000 from Me

The usual rant of STOP LENDING MONEY TO PEOPLE AS CHARITY. There is nothing good about lending someone money with no interest rate that you don't trust literally 100%. Sorry to be the annoying 10000th person to say something like that. The upside is you have a new friend! and the downside is you lose big $$$. Pretty bad equity there.

More importantly, thank you for bringing information like this to the community both to out a scammer and to hopefully further push the lesson to avoid this spots entirely. After the fact it seems like you are handling this as well as can be hoped and it does take some courage to do so.

Clearly WCG wanted to get some cash off without waiting 2 months, knew there was some chance that he'd get ****ed on the deal and came to the conclusion that it was worth the risk. Obviously he can't just come out and say this because then he looks less sympathetic, but that seems to be the situation. Can't rungood 100% of the time, gl getting the money back in something resembling timely fashion.

Agree with this. There is a lot of crap in NVG but there is also some very useful information.

Hope you get your money back WCG.

If you have to ask people if you should loan someone money DONT DO IT.

You gain no respect for loaning money, you just get seen as a pushover. If youre loaning money to people who arent your very closest friends, you are THAT GUY. THAT GUY isnt cool awesome guy whos great to hang out with. THAT GUY is "hey theres that guy i barely know and dont feel bad about ripping off cos he wont do ****".

Upside is he didn't have to pay the 5-10% vig he would usually pay to get money off Merge.

I hope you end up getting in touch with Brad and end up getting your money back. It's a shame that so many well-known poker 'heroes' are such degens and scumbags.

Yes, sadly have to agree on this being quite likely. I'm guessing he would have asked for much more if it was possible as well.
