I think deeb handled the situation very well. You guys acting like he should defend his wife in some way physically is pretty ridiculous. Deeb has waaaay too much to lose to let this POS result in any real life consequences.

I watched some of the stream on Friday. Doug found himself in a generally pretty terrible situation at that table. To me he seemed like he was trying to de-escalate the situation and make the table a bit more light hearted and friendly. An impossible task, maybe I missed things that you're speaking of, but all in all, after what we witnessed, I find it hard to walk away from that disaster with negative comments about Doug. Well, maybe that he laughs at his own jokes too much.

I know hashtagking in real life. It's been interesting to watch him slowly ruin his life / lose touch with reality through his snapchat stories. The truth is he got fired from his CA firm and had some kind of mental breakdown. He started his own "firm" but I'm positive has no actual clients. He invented this social media identity "Hashtagking" and became completely obsessed. I mean, he pretty much just started narrating his life through instagram, snapchat, twitter one day and then never stopped. He binked a big tourney for about $400k USD and that's when he really lost his mind truly believing the delusion. He'll be out of money soon enough and seems to have put on 70lbs in the past year. AMA

This whole thing was a huge disgrace. The only good thing is that likely only hardcore poker players watched it. I can't see a recreational or new poker player watching this and thinking, "man that makes poker look awesome, I need to play more."

Mike Dentale: ****ing meathead but the poker community needs him to balance our nerdiness range. If he would've used his god-given muscles to punch Saloman, It would've been a much better show ending. Needs to improve his poker game. 10/10 the real hero of this show. This hashtag idiot is SO GOOD FOR POKER. First of all you have the habitual line stepper
Deeb who is constantly needling people when they're at their most vulnerable, slowrolling people he doesn't know that well and calling out people who are financial deadbeats. He is always disregarding the status quo of poker etiquette and plays by his own rules. He grew up in New York and was born into a large, business minded family with Lebanese roots. I think it's safe to say he has tough skin. Sometimes he is a little too prickly for some peoples' liking.

Hashtag King went in there knowing He was going to go over the top of anything Deeb said and he accomplished that mission. Was it too far? No way. it was no worse than anything you would hear in 4 years at a public high school. If you don't want people to bring your family into it, don't make yourself a target by always being so outspoken and don't talk about your family on stream/in front of scumbags.

Then he challenges the best player in the world to heads up NL for 1M. And following that with an attempt to like put his greasy accoutrements up for consignment or whatever that was...pure genius.

I'm actually sad this is on such a small stage. Would be so great if this was the November 9 and he was laying into Deeb, Scott Seiver or Kassouf or something. Think of the story - "Professional Poker Player known as the Hashtag King calls opponent's mother a whore and gets disqualified, forfeiting 4 million dollar prize."

There's a time and a place for beautiful poker but if you can't see this guy is a potential golden porkchop to the poker ecosystem, then I would suggest to rethink who we are trying to recruit into this game.

Shaun Deeb seems like a pillar in the poker community. He loans money to some poker players who happen to be respectable it seems so he's good for the games cuz he helps keep them running/ helps put people in bigger games.
