Hashtag only plays in these tv events because it's great publicity for his flourishing accounting business.

Show was bad, and PNIA should feel bad.

The only mistake they can still make would be to let this air on proper TV.

Watching 20 minutes of that crap yesterday confirmed my disdain for poker. Thank you Asstag,Shaun, and Brandon for reaffirming the cringe worthiness of Poker TV. Disappointed that Doug would take part in that abortion

hashtag king was an absolute joke, but my favorite part of the episode is when he said he had no idea who Doug polk was and Doug jumps out of his seat lol.

reason as to why he would want to play? to his defence he probably did not realise that the game was going to be as hostile as it was. It's also an incredibly soft line up at high stakes NLHE which he's printing money in.

They finally made a poker show that looked and sounded like every late night high stakes game I play in. I cringed along with everyone but also laughed my ass off at some of the convos. Personalities like those are just so common in high stakes that I guess I'm used to it. I think Ewass has a very underrated needling game.

I'm familiar with who you are as a podcaster, do you play much poker though? This isn't a needle as I'm genuinely curious. I heard you commenting on LATB a while back and wondered if you play/played higher stakes games.

Re: JoeiIngram1 / ChicagoJoey podcasts and vids etc; the space he occupies in the main is essentially as a poker media personality, so he therefore has to remain as neutral as is possible otherwise his role would be impossible to perform.

However, if you watch his podcasts you will observe that he is very skillful, sometimes cunning, but also tactful at the same time, at extracting a lot of information (sometimes even confessions) out of players, without him appearing to take sides or being judgemental. He does it in such a way that the interviewee is often ambushed by a killer question almost without them knowing that it has even been asked.

This is the method and skill that a successful interviewer / journalist / commentator needs to have to have longevity in their field and to enable them to have access to and respect from every player and person within the poker industry so that they can do their job properly and effectively.

So Joey's approach of suggesting what may or may not be wrong or stepping over the line is the correct one, to report the facts to the viewer and let the viewer digest the facts. That is what journalism and media reporting is and should be.

Amazing to see Sal blowing his money away. I went to school with him and used to play poker in similar circles in Toronto and everyone I know was wondering how long it would take him to go broke after he binked at tourney. I guess we're finally there hahahaha

I usually will take a hard stance on something I am extremely knowledge about (like Pot Limit Omaha/approaching poker ideas.) You can see me take more hard stances to questions on the recent PLO-related podcast I did with JNandez. When it comes to something like this being good or bad for poker, I'm not going to pretend like I have a great understanding of what is. I understand the angle that Poker Night in America is going from on camera and off camera conversations with them and what their process is for determining what they think is good/bad for poker. I do think that bringing the family into it and talking in that sort of way is very bad but there are still many people who will find it entertaining. I can see both sides of the argument here I'm not saying I agree with the behavior and would ever do it myself but everyone is different. Some enjoy coming off being hated by everyone who observes them. (?)

If I ****ed a certain girl and was asked about it, I would say that I don't discuss things like that but I'm sure it would be a great experience if I did.

Cantu is currently commentating on day 2 of the cash game, he's given his thought process on a couple hands an was absolute certain that the players would make a specific play, obviously both times he was completely wrong.

followed up by the best quote in twitch chat i've seen in a while "cantu is even bad when he can see the cards"

Nah he was pretty shy before he binked that tournament. He was down a lot of money lifetime before and I think he pretty much knew he sucked at poker. Last time I talked to him was when he changed jobs to go work at PwC which I think was almost 2 years ago or something - hard to remember.

I never saw him really have money or even wear expensive clothes, and I get the feeling that he never really had any even though he must have been pulling in at least $70k/yr at the time and was living with his parents. He constantly lost money at poker. He played at this very juicy 1/2 home game for a while where people would regularly sit down with $500 and rebuy full. It was all doctors/lawyers/etc. and no rake because it was hosted by a well off dude who just wanted to play with other professionals (not sure how Sal got there haha). Easiest game in the world, and yet Sal still lost money. He would play with scared money and then spontaneously try to bluff some fish who would never in a million years fold. Or make some random ******ed hero call.

After he binked some rando tournament, I don't think he suddenly thought he was good at poker, I just think he tried to live out life the way he thinks rich people do. Trashy people think "rich people" act like that, and he wants to fit in. It's like the broke ass people who think they too will have a golden apartment when they become Donald Trump rich, but on a smaller scale and way more sad.

Probably giving away who I am right now but I don't really care.

Today is really fun to watch. Nothing compared to last night's abomination with all the douchebags trying to compete with each other in who's the worst human being.

That's the girl who owns the skin care line company right? (Youngish dark brown haired girl?) if so she's actually been playing really well, she got unlucky in that 75cc hand but has been winning pots without really getting dealt much.

No need to apologize. Someone asked why the producers of PNIA didn't put a stop to that **** show, and with your help, I was providing the answer. It's the same reason that trash tv, consisting of a multitude of ever ****tier "reality" shows, exists. People want to watch these human train-wrecks.
