Of course you'll be able to play on ACR, they don't even worry about the FBI and happily gamble by accepting Americans, why would they not allow Australians? Out of fear of some Australian gambling committee?

The bill is bigger than just online poker. Don't go blaming it on him, in fact, Nick seems to be a lot more aware and considerate of the amendment that was propose to exclude online poker

This is not true. Senator Xenophon has proven himself to be a reasoned and considered person through our interactions with him. He appreciates our point of view and made comments to that effect in parliament yesterday.

The comments he made in parliament will be a big help moving forward which is why I included a thank you to him in today's tweets.

Actually, I just realised I didn't share today's tweets here. Will do so now!

So it looks like we have 7-10 business days from when it gets passed by the House of Representatives until Royal assent is given according to Office of Parliament Counsel and then according to the bill section 2 "Commencement"
which states that once the bill receives Royal assent it will take 28 days before the commencement of the bill.

Then according to Online poker report they say that the lower house has to vote on it first but does not specify a timeframe other than within the coming months. Anyone out there know when this would be?

Obviously Stars or Party or other may decide to pull out pre as 888 did, will be sending them emails today to see if they have a schedule of their own.

Raising awareness is great but we need to influence people who have the power to affect the outcome. The last person in this chain as I understand it is the Governor-general, anyone out there buds with the Guv'nor?

Also a question for Joey, would raising money be an effective way of furthering our position in this fight, such as launching an ad campaign? I think I read something about that ITT but idk if that was just a proposal w or w/out merit, or something that has actually come to fruition, and if the latter, what form is it taking (i.e gofundme/kickstarter/etc?) In the end, money usually outtalks the competition imo

Yeah there were internet ads, i saw a few on facebook before i got around to liking the page there. Some friends also told me they were seeing some ads on facebook.
I think ads now will still have a lot of effect because we need more support for leyonhjelms inquiry, so I'm assuming more donations for ads to get more exposure still help a lot

Now is not the time for ads, Leyonhjelm spoke to me directly and said this will go down in May (the committee/inquiry into online poker) in the mean time we should be thanking him and the five other Senators who voted for us

We're going to be working on changing the LNP policy from within to support legal/regulated online poker a large portion of the party is sympathetic to our cause but they vote as a bloc so we need to get them to change their party policy. Joey, a LNP friend of mine who is with the QLD branch and others are on it.

In the meantime Leyonhjelm just wants us to make some noise on social media etc and when the time for the fight comes we are to assist by making pro-online poker submissions to the inquiry.

We're being informed months in advance there is no 'short notice' excuse this time to 10 or so submissions we made prior to IGA bill was pathetic, we want hundreds or even a thousand here. That is how we get the LNP on board at which point we have the votes for a majority to support our position at the inquiry that Leyonhjelm will set in motion and along with the minor party senators who already support us we can get a bill passed.

It's not going to be fast, but the fight is very winnable, we're in a much better place than the US is for example.

I'm sure we'll do another fundraiser for ads prior to the fight that will probably begin in May and take some time, but right now the AOPA is working behind the scenes to get this thing going. When we get the Coalition on board and adopting our stance within their party policy, we win. There is support there at the grassroots and even many of their MPs and Senators but they vote as one, so we need it to be policy.

Leyonhjelm, Hinch and One Nation voted with us today, send them tweets thanking them along with Xenophon for considering our view. The time will come for us to donate again, make submissions and be active in calling politicians etc. but this fight isn't going to be won or lost today, this week or even this month.

Was just watching paul murray live and he was speaking to senator hinch about section 18c and he talked very briefly about online poker and how xenophon voted against it. Hinch talked about how he voted to keep online poker and they are planning on introducing new legislation.

So as swoopAE said it is definitely time to make some noise. And let these senators know we are behind them.

Firstly, thank you JoeyDel & SwoopAE for leading this fight. You have orchestrated some amazing work over such a short period of time and with the support of the Poker Community I believe we can win this battle.

I have been following this thread since finding out that Online Poker was in jeopardy early this year and I made a donation several weeks ago to the GoFundMe Jarred set up. Now that the Goal of $5,000 is almost reached Joey, might I suggest that a new Fund be setup in your name with a larger Goal so we can assist in covering your personal expenses & advertising and making our voice heard. (I would delightedly Donate double my initial amount if I knew the funds were flowing to you directly). I also appreciate that you must be very busy at the moment, so I'll leave that decision up to you. Just a suggestion.

I also watched the Senate stream the other day and although the outcome was disappointing it was good to see that all your work truly made an impact on the day. Will be using my twitter account to make some noise and follow your daily action plans. Let's do this, they won't take Online Poker from us without a FIGHT !!

For anyone that missed Joey talking to Ross on 2GB you can catch it here;

Joey, your performance in that 2GB interview was faultless.

On the poker enquiry, it looks like it may happen as quickly as May if we get enough momentum.

https://www.facebook.com/SenatorDavi...2104258865139/

Do the key Senators feel like the response has been strong enough for them to push forward on the enquiry?

On a separate note, it would be great if PokerStars kept offering their services until the enquiry results are known.

Just to clarify, I can confirm all of these funds have come directly to me and have been spent or are currently being spent at the moment.

Jarred has been extremely prompt with this. I suppose I could set something up if people like. I just have been hesitant as I feel strange asking people for money.

The inquiry will happen there has been an excellent outpouring of support from the community so thank you for that.

We will need to wait and see what PokerStars does. Although to clarify, our amendment has been voted on but the Bill as a whole has not passed yet.

The government lost one amendment which means it needs to go down to the house. Nothing has changed until that Biil is passed by both houses. The legislative agenda has the budget coming up and then we have the 18C debate about to kick off so we may still have a bit of time up our sleeves.

Thank you to Ross Greenwood from 2GB and Today Show for interviewing Joseph Del Duca about #AusFight4Poker

We were surprised to learn that Ross was not aware that poker was a game of skill. Our campaign is all about raising awareness of the game we love so if Ross can beat an Australian Poker Pro in a Best of 3 Heads Up Match we will donate $1,000 to his favourite charity!

If you think this is a good idea click the link and send Ross a tweet!
