Re: Phil Ivey proves he's the best again....wins his 6th bracelet, worth close to $10M?
imo it's a huge error to ever compare poker tournaments to professional sports. This "Ivey is Michael Jordan" stuff is stupid because Michael Jordan had to work his ass off all season to get to the playoffs, phil ivey or phil hellmuth do not have to do anything but put up the buy-in.
I continue to believe that the WSOP and bracelets are meaninless and I'll never understand why anyone cares.
p.s. I do watch and enjoy the wsop. I just don't think it means anything.

you always abuse people who has won bracelets in small fields.. so why not abuse ivey here for only beating 147 players...?

Joe sebok said on poker road that Ivey was willing to tell how much he won won on the prop bet on his life of Ivey show, but only if all the losers were comfortable with it.
so we might get an accurate figure soon

It's not like it's his first bracelet...he has 6 now...that's the accomplishment. He was playing a game he was not that good at against that games regulars, and won(accomplishment). Can you really accuse a guy of plain luck when it's Phil Ivey(don't matter if it's a field of140 or 1500?...sometimes you need a reminder as to why someone is considered great...had 2-7 regular won this event then get to abusing.

Also, it's not always the size of the field to consider. There were a lot of great players in that 2-7 tournament.
