I also think people are going to be biased about his chance of making it. Crooked rim, rain, some wind, and he'd been drinking. Im fine with giving up a few hundred for the lols and even if he's crushing the bet I only lose 1-2k for a good experience.
You're summing up things as if they are not easily overcome by white magic. You lost the bet before he even made the shot.

It is like dark ages Hun saying: first you will lose heads up, then prop bet, next is your woman, last your horse...But don't worry, just keep drinking and have a fun.

Been watching the replays as they get posted on YouTube.

This King Of The Hill format definitely seems to bring out a fun side in poker. The table talk, the white magic, the trash talking (jokingly of course), and the sense of genuine excitement from the commentators (you can tell they're smiling alot with their voices, again having fun) make these heads up shootouts good viewing. Plus seeing the late night b-ball prop bet with everyone slightly buzzed and Phil running around with the ball under his shirt like a high school kid kicking it is just pure fun.

Keep getting good players and personalities for this dudes!

Almost forgot King of the Hill 3 starts tonight - here's the odds on PokerShares ...

Was hoping PH might be dropping in to do some commentary But it looks like he's in Europe for the WSOPE?

Hopefully it'll still be as fun a show as last time - looking forward to it!

The picture they used of Dan must have just come after a million dollar win.

Brandon's all-in game was strong. 1 chop for his life, another chop, and 3 wins (2 of them for his life).

What? Those professional basketball players are shooting 3's in a game where there's defense....and also guys with percentages that low are typically guys who aren't expected to be taking that shot and are taking it as a last resort shot clock/buzzer beater type situation.

Most NBA players who actually expect to shoot 3's in a game regularly shoot at least 35%. And those same guys would probably hit over 60% if it was a no defense shot on a practice court.

A guy like Tim Duncan for example, had a career 3 point % of only 18% (30-168 in his career) Because that wasn't his game and he never expected to shoot 3's in a game. When he did, it would've been mostly desperation last resort shots, and sometimes from well beyond the line as time was expiring. But I'd be willing to bet that on a practice court with no defense Duncan at least double that percentage.

10-1 was a terrible bet for Polk. Fair odds probably more like 6-1 or 5-1 if Hellmuth gets no warm up shots. If he gets warm up shots then even 4-1 is probably a bad bet.
