Well, that would be awesome for $0.25/$0.50 games, for smaller games would be awful.

please do the math before you post

900/140000 = $0.006 p.H

others posted its just 14k hands so 0.06$ per hand, still great

I might open a blockbuster video store.

Sure. In $0.01/$0.02 games, it would be great. LOL

Context, buddy, context.

I hope it is going to be released in the next three months.

I would guess it's not happening at this point. It is now May and the start date was supposed to be January.

If you're serious, I'll give you 2:1 that it does come out..

I'm not confident. I'm 'guessing'.

If i was Galfond at this point i'de delay launch until pokerstars make there changes & then release my product & then market the site as player friendly & almost bash/advertise the competitors(stars etc) poor rake structure & how it affects even recreational players etc.

its not gonna happen....obviously

Why would that be so "obvious"?

Even if it does happen, people have lost confidence/respect because of the long delay and non-communication. There wont be as many people jumping on to play when it opens.

Say, this site comes out with - because of time well spent - awesome software, a rake structure that's well thought out, with one of the most respected players out there behind the project: you would not play there "because of the long delay"? Level?

If he does this right, I think everybody should be happy he takes his time, his site has to be better than Stars, you don't want to compete, you want to take over! Pointless rushing and taking a very small share in the market and be another Ipoker or Microgaming. These guys are small potatoes, he needs to take this **** over!

When Phil made the announcement last year, one must understand that at this point, it was only a "project" : there was no software, no huge staff involved yet, probably no definitive plans about how to run it.
I'm confident enough he wouldn't have announced it if he thought his project wouldn't be launched some day, but it still was a project only.

Do you have any idea what does it take to develop a poker software ? Building server infrastructure around it ? Administrative tools to manage all of this ?
It's a HUGE work and it requires some competent dedicated staff, lot of time and money, probably more than he thought at announcement.

Yes, I do agree that it was certainly a mistake saying "Q1 2017" and I guess he realized that yet, but give him time and let's just wait and see.
What do you prefer ? Something made in a hurry that will disappoint and not attract people or a solid product that can compete (and hopefully takeover !) in a saturated declining market ?

the original announcement included a hint, that rumours started so he didn't want to be forced to announce it. in the recent update he said they had a few setbacks but is still happy with the development ... besides that. Even if it would launch today, what do you all expect. all those 24-tablers with slim edges wouldn't find action, bum hunters no bums to hunt and the game selection will be limited anyway. so it will take a while, until the tables fill and more important, until the deposits arrive.

until there's no proper announcement or new facts (e.g. on which markets RIO poker will be active), this thread is pointless atm. mods should close until PG has an update ...

I probably wouldn't release it until mid Autumn even if I were ready now - it's better to launch as the high season starts.

His point is that he's paying much more for the same service.

I disagree though, IMHO a live dealer offers a different service to an RNG so its not directly comparable.

Is this gonna happen ?
