Petitions like this don't work because there isn't anything to work. You're not voting for a person or law, you're making the tiniest possible effort with no real-world results.

Why would Stars care if a few hundred people took ten seconds to sign some petition, people who may not be using their real names or even play on the site, or if they did play on the site kept doing so at the same rate? The strike(s) didn't work but at least it makes some sort of sense.

I get where you're coming from, but I still think it could make a difference. Even if they don't bring the deep games back, they may think twice before making a similar change in the future.

Anyway, the bottom line is that it can't hurt.

Wasting your time with the false belief that your actions have any effects at all, or that they've reduced the chance of something similar happening, is not a positive or even neutral.

Poker players, as a group, are too disorganized to pull off an effective boycott.

No, it's not going to work because it's not going to work. There is zero chance it will have any effect. FYI, zero is less than 1%. You'd have a better chance of building your own rocket and flying to Uranus than achieving anything with this petition.

I'm surprised at anyone thinking that negotiating with Stars is +ev at this point. The writing has been on the wall since before Christmas. They're not interested.

couple of dozen angry 2+2 users mad about a game they probably didn't play anyway: stars, we're really mad at you removing the deep stacked cash games!
stars: are you still playing on stars?
couple of dozen angry 2+2 users mad about a game they probably didn't play anyway: er, yes?
stars: move along, nothing to see here, be back in a couple of months to fix the ecosystem some more

Removing deepstack games has killed my win rate

I never used to buyin for 250 bbs although I would sit down for fifty and it would make it twice as easy to get money from bigger stacks

It contributes to nitty play by everyone at the table

Its you greedy bastards sitting down for 250 that ruined it

Poker stars only want deposits from busted shortstackers. I often keep my stack with a slight profit or slight loss when playing with 150-300 bbs. But I often lose 2-3 buy ins if playing shortstacked. Why? It's psychological and when short stacked and not getting hands for an hour or so I try to force action and raise/draw with 8 outers. Either they don't hit or when they there is only one caller and I still have a short stack. Poker stars know that most low stakes losers are short stackers.

Games run 24/7. Software is still the best even amaya is trying to ruin it. Instant cashouts. Biggest selection of games. And where can you go atm? Party is just even worse choise after the recent changes. Ipoker is just ipoker. Microgaming changed the handhistories so soon it's just like party.
