LOL, Negranu´s answer standing for Amaya is pathetic. He didn't even have a clue that Pokerstars was going to be sold to Amaya 3 months ago, he found out along with others like Vanessa Selbst during the WSOP when the reporter informed him. That means that obviously he never knew and never participated on Pokerstars administration or decisions to know financial "strategies" of the company. Much less now with Amaya, clearly someone gave him an order to stand for Amaya publicly in this case. Remember Amaya is a stock company, shares go up and down depending on the news published in the media, bad news means less value for the shares, thats why they ordered Negreanu to stand for them.

Thats the only true, I know what is true or false in this whole story.

One thing that would actually bring me back to Pokerstars a little but is if they got shot of Negreanu. His odious presence as part of the brand is worse than the rake changes in my humble opinion.

yeah but that's not because he wants the owners to make less money its because he wants to get paid the same money for doing less. Michael Jordan responded in the media to Lebron here saying that if players want less games they should get less money.

As far as I am aware Lebron would not want to play less games if he got less money. the point been made was DNeg makes money from stars and would not want to make less money from stars, like Lebron would not want to argue to get less money. That been said picking Lebron was a pretty bad choice for an example.

although really its not money orientated its simply because Lebron James knows he can never surpass the Legendary Michael Jordan, and Lebron wants that throne. he cannot beat 72 wins in a season, however if they lowered the games in a season he may be able to beat the 87.8% win rate over a small sample by luck boxing it.

It's definitely a tricky spot for DN but it'd be better if he just chose to admit he is financially tied to the company and doesn't want to get involved than to be a blind defender. The logic he is using could be applied to basically anything Stars ever does no matter how bad it is. He doesn't want to get into the nit and grit of some of the changes and how they ruin some of the games so he just generally talks about business and making money.

I think that Negreanu is just dead wrong about the opinions he has expressed recently and I'm really dissappointed with the changes that PokerStars has recently made. But PokerStars isn't doing anything illegal so I don't see why DN should be pressured into quitting. I think that Daniel should quit, but if his resignation is sparked by peer pressure rather than principle, it really doesn't make much of a statement.

This comment is even more stupid then the rest. Daniel makes his living from promoting a company. Who is anyone to say hes made enough or made too much. How many of you would turn down a couple of mega if Amaya came knocking at your door to promote them. Stars moves are not about short term gains they are moves to create long term sustainable profits. Walmart realized their customers would not only buy clothes and furniture but would also buy cell phones and grocerys so they expanded into both. Amaya realized that X% of poker players also play casino and bet sports. They would be idiots to not capitalize on that. Every smart company in this world looks at their customers and thinks of ways to either upsell them or put them into additional products. thats why they call them businesses and not charity"s. Everyone should stop whining. If you dont like the new Stars play on Lock oh I forgot they dont pay. Amaya took a huge risk leveraging themselves to be able to buy Stars. They have a fiduciary responsibility to shareholders and creditors to make as much money as possible. PERIOD!!
