the cash games here at the pca are the juiciest/wildest cash games i've ever played in. where do all these fish come from? does anyone have any wild stories? in our 2-5 table. we had a danish guy who saw EVERY flop, regardless of raise. he called a $300 pf re-reraise with 8-5o. lets hear some more donkalicious stories from the pca

was playin $1/$2 at the PCA. limped in with jjs. this old donk who apparently never played NL before raised from the sb. flop was 628, he bet, i re-raised the pot, he re-raised i shoved for 500bbs he snap called with 65. was a 1000bb pot and he hit a "5" on the river. jjs no good.

was ok thought i put a bounty on his head at the table.
next hand same old man picked up kks re-raised a bunch of limpes with his kks and the last guy who limped check raised him alllin with q-10 off and cracked his kks for a 400bb pot.

i finished down about 1k. oh how i suck at live cash games.

Taking the blinds as opposed to losing 500bb seems +EV in this situation.

But meh what do I know

Yea I am generally a live cash game specialist and the games at the PCA this year really have been off the charts.

5-10 NL - First day I am playing 5-10 NL and two different times there is a straddle/restraddle/re... all the way to 160. In other words 10/20/40/80/160 blind straddle. In one of those hands there was a three way all in for a $5000 pot and the hands were 9-4s, K-8, K-T. The K-8 hit a 4 card straight to scoop. I also saw a guy bluff $3000 into a $300 dollar pot with ace high.

10-25 NL- The second day I am playing 10-25 and the action is just as ridiculous. It is regularly raised/reraised to 500-600 preflop with 2-3 callers. There weren't many off the charts moments like in the 5-10 game... but damn.

If you aren't down here now its probably worth it to hop a flight when your done reading this post, and catch the last 3-4 days of cash games.

im actually going home early today because the games arent at all what they were like last year....the 50/100/200 game yesterday was probably one of the worst lineups I've ever seen in my life in a live game of that size

I have never played live at a casino that is putting on a big tourney. I don't understand how the games could get so much softer when all the professional tourney players come to town. Are there just alot of really bad players on the tournament circuit, or what?

What makes the games so soft when it should be packed with professional players?

eh i saw one kind of good one at 5/10 yesterday. some french kid was playing mega agg in every pot and he raised from EP and a donkish old dude called from LP. the flop was like Kxx with a flush draw. The french kid check called the flop and turn, then the river completed the flush and he bet like 1k into a 300 or so pot to which the old dude more or less snap called. Flush obv right? The french kid tabled KJo and the old guy turbo mucked. Still not sure if the french guy thoguht he was vbetting or not.

Then the very next hand I picked up AQ suited and raised and the old donk called. The flop was Kxx giving me a flush draw. I bet and the donk snapcalled. The turn paired 6 on the board so it was K663 board w/two to my suit. I bet like 1/4th pot knowing the old donk wouldn't raise to sweeten the pot/maybe get value and he folded AK face up...

Weird.

nobody good is bothering to play below 50/100 because they are on vacation. the megafishies in the games probably aren't even there for the tourney. they are probably there to stay in their $10,000 suite and check out the giant stingray.

Poker is just like any other spectator sport except the spectators don't need any skill to play the game they enjoy watching, they just need money.

So lots of spectators who think, "Hey I can do that" can just go sit down and do just that. "TIME TO BLUFF MY CHIPS ALL IN LIKE THE PROS ON TV."
