yes and in my opinion this is the number 1 problem with party and i've told them about it loads of times.

If you are new player, or someone with default filters, and all you do is go and have a look at a certain stakes/blinds level this is what you see



You actually have to scroll down past over 150 bumhunters with empty tables before you find out that there are a couple of 6 max games going. Yes there are 14 pages of scroll downs on 3/6 alone with 1 person sat at a HU tables, before you see any 6max action.

And this is how party presents their tables to everyone.

I just cant believe how idiotic this is! The 6max games, or games with ANY action by default are listed UNDER the 150 empty bumhunting HU tables.
AND THERE ISN'T EVEN A DEFAULT FILTER TO FILTER OUT THE HU GAMES. Makes me so mad how dumb they can be

I doubt that party had their players in mind.

They just had a painful outing that their revenue sucks. I doubt they are worrying about the player experience but are very concerned about their $$$ from rake.high stakes rake is very low compared to low stakes rake.

In poker money is extracted from the ecology by cash outs of winners and by rake. Party wants a bigger piece of the pie by disallowing games where the ratio of money won (= cash out) to rake is in their favor. They surely want a bigger piece of the pie. They probably believe that the overall ecology is not going to change much and are worried that low stakes money moves up the pyramid and then gets cashed out by winners. They want the money to stay low so it gets raked instead.

I looked at 5-10 and .25-.50.

At 1000nl the ratio was 1:5 at 50nl it was 1:1.

That means for every $ won party gets $1 from the ecology at the low stakes and at the high stakes they get only $1 every $5 won.

party prolly thinks they can slow the shrinking of the ecology and thus keep more of the money via rake.

great post- we see the same thing being referred to at ipoker as well obv- ipoker are splitting into 2 with the bigger networks getting a bigger slice of the lucrative lower stakes cash games

I don't really believe this - such a negative winrate sounds impossible to accomplish unless you essentially chip dump. Also, as you move up stakes, fish become more aggressive and lose less

What stumps me is... are these bumhunters really getting any action? If there are really 150 guys sitting alone at HU tables, is it worth it for them to even be there? Someone has to come to your stakes, then pick a seat at random, then decide to play you for any significant number of hands.

Do HU bumhunters just play 50 hands a year and call it good?

fwiw: I play six max, and the reason I don't play HU is 100% because of the ridiculous bumhunting issue.
