Original Online Pro's, Then and Now? Original Online Pro's, Then and Now?

As a young poker player i have not really had the chance to see how poker has changed over the years, which pro's came from nowhere to dominate and which ones bit the dust and faded out.

Ive had my eye on poker watching/playing since around 2005/6 but was wondering who was some of the first "pro's" and are they still here today?

Who'm was some of the first players signed to online sites? Did pacific sign anyone or was Party Poker the first "Major" website.

My inspirations have been the likes of Tom Dwan and Andrew Robl, whom i watched his Busto to Robusto and noticed he looked at his ROI when he started playing and it was over 200% which these days is just not possible.
Most players are lucky to have a 10% ROI.

Is he, Durrr and co a select few who can carry on beating the game after the boom as the games got a lot tougher or is there pro's from the early days of pacific/party that still dominate today? Maybe even a few 2+2 users who signed up when it opened?

Cliffs:
Are there still pro's around from Pacific dominating poker?
Whom was some of the first player signed up to a website?
Could the original high stakes players beat the game today as easily as then?

Durrrr seems to be beating the games today.

Or at least doesn't seem to be as big a dog as people thought he would be.

I believe he was a high-limit specialist.

BloodSweatTears (or however he spelled it) killed the NL games too.

Others worth mentioning: Aba/sbrugby (cash), spirit rock/mahatma (cash), Genius28 (cash), Mr Menlo (MTT)

Are these players no longer around? Busto? Moved to live? Or just had enough of poker in general.

I heard Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson was pretty good during the poker boom but has since faded just a little.

Grammar nit but this really tilts me, Pro's is completely wrong, it's pros. You wouldn't write car's in 'I have many cars' would you? 's is not used to make a word plural.

Ima nit on your nittery. Apostrophes can be used to replace missing letters in contractions when you are writing informally. In general, it is considered bad grammar to invent contractions. Pros is grammatically correct in that you are not creating a contraction. If your intention is to create a contraction, then Pro's isn't wrong. In dialogue it would be considered grammatically correct, especially if the writer is trying to portray a dialect or accent.
