Stephano for sure would have been a good candidate, he still gone from SC2?

Yeah Stephano still streams occasionally but I haven't seen him in any competitions lately. Wonder what stars is up to.

Whitera has a decent if not huge following, they'd be better off with Stephano or ideally Boxer, although Stephano has a habit of doing controversial stuff which Stars new Amaya overlords may not like. Maybe as their .fr rep. Naniwa would make sense too or someone like Grubby

I've said for a long time that the competitive gaming market is one that poker sites should target.

if stephano would have been picked up by any online gambling site it'd probably be winamax who sponsored one of his old sc2 teams, or a more french-facing site

Re: Online poker X Starcraft?

boxer has like retired

the ideal names would now be jaedong, flash, taeja, MC, snute, scarlett imo.

Maybe some SC2 personalities? Tastosis will support anything if you pay them enough. Someone like incontrol or rotterdam could work well too. Rotterdam reminds me of Lex Veldhuis a bit actually .

Re: Online poker X Starcraft?

Also what does a 6 player SC2 team cost a year? 200-300k? Would be a great investment imo

Doesn't seem like anyone comes even close to moving the needle as much as Stephano. Maybe flash does? iirc Stephano was getting like 50k views on his stream this year doing WCS stuff whereas Jaedong gets like 2-3k while laddering.

Edit: but obv Stephano is semi-retired and kind of a troll

Re: Online poker X Starcraft?

If you guys slow down for a minute. And take a look at the pokerstars twitter feed. These tweets have gone out to a whole heap of gaming 'promoters' with large amounts of followers. Not professional, or ex pro gamers.

This isn't about recruiting some pro gamers to poker and actually doing something fun and far sighted like trying to turn them into decent poker players.

It's about turning them into affiliates and giving them some 'cash for comments deals to sell pokerstars to their followers.

You guys totally overestimate the new Amaya Pokerstars.
