Re: Olivier Busquet Appreciation Thread

I was going to respond to this thread when it was first posted with a BIG ROFLMMFAO but opted to keep my negative comments to a minimum at the time so as to not offend all the Olivier nut hugging that was going on ITT when it was posted. But, after re-watching last nights edited version of the big one I can say without hesitation that Olivier will never be seen again on any poker broadcast as a commentator and let's thank God for that. The guy may be a beast at playing the game but as a commentator he was probably one of the worst ever for a broadcast of that magnitude. I swear to God if I heard him say "It's a function of" one more God Dam time I woulda thrown a chair through my TV. I haven't gone back and counted how many times he used the phrase but I'm going to put the O/U on that at 14. Originally I thought maybe he'd been taking broadcasting lessons from the one and only other guy in poker that overuses the catch phrase "A function of" and that would be none other than Joe Seebok. And apparently ESPN agreed because Olivier didn't even make an appearance in the final edited cut of the broadcast of The Big One. I'm sure Lon and Norm were very happy that they had to go back into the studio after the fact to redo the entire broadcast because Olivier was so bad. Olivier's hand reading skills were put to the test in that broadcast three or four times as well and he failed miserably each time at that too. I say he needs to just keep goin balls deep in Kara, keep binking MTT's and please STFU and stay out of the broadcast booth because you suck at it! And for those of you saying WTF does this guy know about broadcasting, I spent over 22 years in the television and radio industries as a reporter, full time air talent, voiceover artist and programmer so I do have a little bit of experience to base my judgements on.
