Ben Grundy's latest blog is up saying he has moved into his new house and is up 450k this month. Planning on hitting the 100/200a games on stars...

Pretty sweet house, knowing London it must have cost a good chunk.

House looks pretty good if not a bit sterile/generic. Unless he got it for a bargain I imagine he's going to see a loss on it should he decide to sell. Any idea what area the house is?

Site doesn't seem to be working but glad to see Grundy back. Used to love railing him back when NL nosebleeds ran on FTP.

I'm guessing you're not a London home-owner.

Fun fact. People in London don't often actually own their houses, they own a lease, usually between 99-3000 years.

London's pretty big.....not every area goes up in value either. If it's in central london he probably paid an inflated amount for a semi-detached house, invested a lot of money into the work/materials (whilst also tying up the initial capital used to buy the house for a few years) and won't see a profit on his investment (which is fine if he has no intention of selling.)

Pad is in Chiswick, one of the most affluent areas in London. Must be at least £3.5m's worth...

I guess you`re both right- never fades point is the affluent areas property prices are pretty stable/going up atm with so many wealthy people basing themselves in London now. House prices have gotten pretty absurd there imo :P

Just looking at some of the property in that area i'd definitely take the under on £3.5m. It looks like a 3 bedroom semi. You can get a 5 bed house for <£3.5m and the house below looks a lot bigger, at least double the size.

Another house I found, not sure if it's a crappy area for Chiswick, but 4 bedroom detached house with gates for £2.6m. I don't see Ben's place being worth £3.5m at all.

Are there ghettos in London? Real question, are there a ton of minorities in gangs living off welfare and all that other stuff like in the states?

Yes to a degree. i live south (by tower bridge) and there are some pretty rough areas not to far away further south. would not say ghettos, but they did smash the tesco up not to far from me when the riots were going down

Yes and Yes.

You could be in a very affluent area and be only 4-500 yards from a horrible council estate 'ghetto'.

Whole of London turned into a ghetto for a few days during the riots.

Solid brag. I've always admired him as a player.

Those house prices are just sick though. I'm sure it's a nice place inside (looks it), but wow can't get over the price

...just a random poker guy who is living in a house. Do you really want to know all of these details? Do you actually care?

IMO this makes it even less likely that someone will take up the bet that he can prove the earnings from his graph
