What happened to him? Last I saw he owed some dough to Full Tilt (a little scary to say the least) and I remember hearing him say numerous times in different programs that he didn't have as much money as he used to. How is this? I figured the "stars" from the poker boom had all profited greatly and didn't necessarily need poker for main income.
Anybody know what is up with him? He used to give the manies to charity, now I'm thinking of donating to him

I remeber in the Life of Ivey, Ivey said that Barry's robinhood of poker thing was a scam. He said it jokingly and with a smile but you could tell their was some truth to it. I guess Ivey can be a dick sometimes, seen him saying some crazy **** before.

I mean a guy whos in debt giving away all his tournament winnings. Just dosnt add up. Somethings really fishy about the whole situation. Could someone with a lil more knowledge on the situation tell me how this would benefit him?

At the time he seemed to have more money. At some point he had to either lose a lot at poker, or some other investments. Or as you're saying maybe he didn't actually give away his winnings idk. I just thought he was one of the "good guys" in poker, but he got extremely nitty and took it to heart when the internet guys started to pwn him

i remember that, i think ivey was more talking about barry's humble good-guy image - he said 'the biggest ego in poker is barry greenstein', implying barry likes the attention. don't think ivey was literally saying barry = scam artist

Bigler also informed us that he had experienced some health issues that took his attention away from game, though he is now making a return and looking forward to finding even more success in poker. Apparently, that didn’t take too long as Bigler recently tweeted:

Ivey was making a joke. He was saying that barry had a huge ego despite his public image.
