first of all just WTF on Borgata situation. what a mess for Borgata and players.

hope the cheaters burn in hell for the trouble they caused at this event. and the likely effect on more rigid and costly tournament poker rules and regs moving forward. days of 15-20% MTT rake are gonne seem like good old days in 12-18monts

anyway the thread is massive only getting bigger. already so much velocity that almost unworkable to sort out main and important topics.

is there any precedence to take a topic with this much interest and the many related and important issues, and breaking it up to 2-3 threads .

maybe at least a sticky up top where important posts and updates are posted up top. ala FTP thread?

I think there are three topics, each of importance but will all get lost in the clutter of a single thread.

#1 Borgata resolution for players and discussion thereof

#2 Outing and prosecution of scammers

#3 Improved procedures for MTT organizers to avoid future problems.

Good ideas but I doubt that any NVG Mods will but in the work. If you want to start #1 and #3 on your own with quotes from relevant posts, have at it. #2 after folks are outed or some determination announced will probably overrun the main thread.

If anyone makes a good cliffs post in that thread, I or any of the other Mods can copy it to the OP.

I still think there needs to be a Borgata Player Resolution Thread as well and let the main do what you figured it do.

atty's alone prob cost $400,000 over the next two years as they fight the eventual class action if they don't. then all the negative PR.

IF they do that then story dies quickly as nobody really has any claim other the whacko claim that "I was on a heater and would have done better if given the chance" . GL . getting a plantiff atty to take that one on

If Borgata asserts the chips were introduced at XX level and can "prove" that (not sure how), then maybe only players knocked out after level XX without cashing, will be paid. If they have irrefutable evidence of that claim then I would agree.

But the only way I believe they attempt to "prove" when chips were introduced is by asking the scam team and then taking their word as the truth .

Hi there shouldn't be 5 threads about music videos on the first page in Nvg.. It's laughable that a mod posted them all and also I didn't think 2+2 allowed free advertising. Threads should be moved to BBV or something seeing as they are old and certainly are not news views or gossip.
Just a fangirl on a one person mission is how it appears.

We've never had a restriction on that.

The thread in no way breaks rules (aside from being in the wrong place), unless you assume that the OP is connected to the site - of course that could be a good assumption. The thread might not have been reported, or the mods might have thought it unlikely that someone would be spamming a high profile site. I know when I saw the title, I just assumed it was a legit poster that had started the thread.

Either way, the horse has left the barn now and I'm not inclined to delete it at this point. But training site discussion doesn't really belong in NVG, so I've locked it and linked to the correct thread for such discussion.

Edit to add: OK, after some admin discussion, for the present time, we'll allow these threads for a short time and then if they're still getting bumped, they'll probably be locked and further discussion would belong in the training thread in the Coaching Advice forum. The thread starter in the Ivey thread doesn't sit well with me either, but I know if we delete or lock it because of that only, it'll just be restarted by someone else, so I'll just save all our time and keep that one.

Started a thread to get community input to compile a list of the top 100 players based on skill + recognition according to 2+2 members. Idea was to keep your picks in spoilers so as no one else's picks influence your own, and just think of as many as you could off the top of your head. Once all was said and done, I was planning on tallying everyone's picks to create a top 100, as well as a rank based on how many times each player was named. Was excited about this, but it was immediately deleted. What's going on, and hopefully we can discuss to have this reinstated. Thank you.

NVG is generally not the place to start personal project threads. These threads become low content troll and insult fests.

A quick search of our forum would also turn up several top player threads already in place that have been fired up and eventually closed. There are also sites in place that track top players like http://www.globalpokerindex.com/ that do it with much greater accuracy than a forum popularity contest. They already did the work for you.

Personal project wasn't the right wording, a 2+2 project would make more sense. Unfortunately, I don't find those rankings or the algorithms they use on those sites very useful, considering I was looking to put together a list of what the diligent poker players on 2+2 believe are the best/most well known players. The intention of my thread was to create a definitive and authoritative source for who the players believe are the top 100, kind of like the SAG's, but for poker. Also, are the posters of 2+2 really not capable of listing all the players they believe to be in the top 100 without it degenerating into a trolling/insult fest? If we all respect the game and other's opinions like we should, I don't see why this should cause any uproarious behavior. And posters who engage in trolling in a mature thread should either be banned, or have their troll posts deleted.

Doubtful it will find the traction it needs in OTT, but thanks for the GL. (Being posted in OTT (everything but poker) everyone's already having a hayday assuming when I say top 100 "players" I'm actually talking about males who are skilled at manipulating woman with the intention of sex).

Edit: And I might implore since I rarely start threads here and have taken a personal interest in putting this list together, if you have the power perhaps you could make an exception and at least give the thread a chance, and if it degenerates quickly lock or delete then? Thanks for considering.

Because it looked like someone spamming their personal cause that has nothing to do with poker news views and gossip. Also an IP check on that account showed it was listed on a few ip intelligence sites as having a high rate of spam.

Was that one of your accounts?

From my point of view it looked like someone trying to reach the general ONLINE poker community and warn them about a major problem that affects a players game with a lot of detailed facts. Please send me pm on which intelligence sites was this IP listed as a high rate of spam so I can contact my internet provider and forward it myself.

I would of course think that was your point of view since you posted it. The decision to delete it from NVG stands. Plug your own IP into this site.

Please elaborate with facts why danger77's thread looked from your point of view like a personal cause that has nothing to do with online poker and its community? How did you come to such an conclusion? Please read again about what danger77's thread was about and ask yourself what if this is true... If no clear fact can be given then I have reason to believe that you don't work for the interest of the online poker community.
