Thank you. I never felt that thread was a harm or trolled anyone, nobody was making any personal attacks and yes, many funny jokes and posts were made. I think this was a great decision to reopen it. it was/is an entertaining thread

While intertwined they are separate topics. Folks need to do a better job of staying on topic in each thread. If that is not possible, maybe closing one of them at some point is the better play.

My post was directed at PP as he was involved in the threads last night. The threads obviously grew fairly quickly but some posts in one thread should have been made in the other and vice versa. Not a huge deal but I agree that depending on how this plays out it might be best for one of the threads to be closed and linked to the open thread.

Well I've read the UB thread now, although not the Innovation threads.

If they essentially converge at some point we'll probably lock one rather than merge them - merging two fairly threads tends to cause more problems that it solves.

Hi mods,

today I opened a thread "Isildur1: Fish on a heat or best poker player" with a poll. While the title may have been a little bit controversial, I was looking forward to some interesting discussion regarding his 2013 results (of which I included a screenshot). So I was quite shocked to see the thread apparently deleted without any notice or explanation. Why is this?

Interested to know why my thread about a poker player raising millions for charity is deleted? Ok, maybe I can understand removing the twitch link (although tenous) but apart from that?

When a former poker player appears on a TV show that is considered News but when a poker player actually does something good for the world by raising literally millions whilst taking zero cut it's deleted.

The front-page of poker for the past 2 years has been filled with one negative story after another, this story would make a nice change from the norm.

2p2 does not allow any charity threads. This is a site wide rule, not an NVG one. Exceptions can only be made by Mason.

We'll have a large WSOP containment chatter thread, and a sweat thread event by event as needed if someone big makes the FT.

The main event will (as always) get it's own sweat thread.

That's worked in the past AFAIK. I have no idea how much of this has happened yet, I'll check out what's happened in NVG during my week away.

I recently posted the text of a newspaper article that detailed an incident at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, Pa. It was deleted by the moderator who asked that only links or summaries be posted. Why? What's the difference between posting the link or copy and pasting the actual article? I'm not trying to be a wise guy here ... I'm genuinely puzzled by this action and wonder if there is some legal reason why ....

Copying and pasting an entire article is copyright infringement.

This site is owned by a Publisher and a few authors. We tend to be sensitive to stealing one's work.

Summarizing and linking to their article on their own web page is allowed under the law.
