Andy Bloch's quote after winning first bracelet Andy Bloch's quote after winning first bracelet

"Now, no one can say, 'Andy Bloch is the best player to never win a gold bracelet'. That is really annoying because there are so many great other players too, who have not won. I've been coming here for 18 years now. I never thought it would have taken so long.", Bloch told after his victory.

No offense but besides Mrs. Bloch and maybe 1 or 2 other blockheads in the world, was anyone saying this?

Yes the WSOP a few years back had a segment that talked about the best player without a bracelet like Gavin Smith (at the time) Laak and Bloch

it wasn't something Bloch saying about himself , but others would like Norman Chad
after the 50k horse then again when he was 2nd in 10k pot limt holdem

I don't think Bloch was trying to say he was the best player without a bracelet but that no one can give him a hard time that think he is now that he has won one

While he may not be considered a truly elite player these days, I'm pretty sure that title was given to him by the old school players. Especially after the 2006 series when he made a few final tables and finished 2nd to Chip Reese in the 50k players championship, I think that generation of players (a) was surprised that he didn't bink one and (b) thought it would only be a matter of time before he did.

So, there very well might be others higher up on that list today (I'm looking at you Shawn Deeb), but once Andy won, the media kinda brought back that old storyline...

I would bet he's paid more in entry fees than any other player before winning his first WSOP title.

As far a pros that might be Dwan in only a four year time period
dwan in the 5k re-buy PLO in 2008 for example said he re-bought over 100k (he bubble in 19th) & played all the 10k, 50k events
and during his bracelet mega-bet year played in almost all events he finished 2nd in one but would jump around tables playing many at the same time

I'm sure there are whales deeper in debt over the year that played

I've known Andy Bloch for almost 20 years...and I can't believe he's ever made the money, much less won a bracelet, or even much less been accused of being the best player to have never won a bracelet.

Andy Bloch can cover Dwan's 100K in PLO from 2008 with just two of his extra $50K entries...plus he has 14 years of WSOP on Dwan. Bloch > Dwan on entry fees. Next contestant. Plus you can add on another 14 main events for $140K alone + all the Omaha championships for most of those 14 years.

here is the segment that cause people to remind these players every time they fell short, some have now won and fallen off the list.
I agree with Bigoldnit that they need a new list with players like Deeb

If Phil Gordon wins a bracelet before Erik Lindgren what is the over/under on how fast he will be paid?

Pretty irrelevant since:

On June 5, 2008 Erick defeated Justin Bonomo during heads-up play for his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the 5,000 buy in mixed no-limit/limit Texas Holdem event at the 2008 WSOP

Wow, embarrassing. Statistically impressive that he hasn't won a bracelet until now, regardless of perceived or actual skill level.

He was nothing but an ordinary shareholder. Its not his fault legally or morally. The board of directors that had a fiduciary responsibility to know what was going on is who you want to blame.

If one of the companies in your stock portfolio turns out to be corrupt are you, giving all of your dividends back?

Were they paid illegal dividends on an unprofitable investment they made out of the players' money by their buddies?

Again, if you hold stock in a company and receive dividends, no matter how large or small its not your job to inspect where they come from. That is what a board of directors is for.

Chris and Howard are who you need to hate.

If he was on the board than I am misinformed and will apologize.

A pointless argument...

In any case, Rafe Furst and Ray Bitar are also a members of the BoD. Let's not forget.
