I don't think you understand how edge and limited bankrolls work. If I have a limited bankroll and make big bets and go bust frequently, as long as I'm playing a low edge/no edge/player advantage game, the casino isn't too happy about my business. If I'm playing a game with a large bankroll but has a decent casino edge, they're happy as they can continually apply their edge over a longer time period.

So we're saying Guy Laliberte's unlimited bankroll didn't give him an edge over the online kids?

Best keep that one quiet lest we put off anyone trying to exercise a similar edge in future.

Who said "Bluff often enough you get called half the time"? Could swear I read it in an old book somewhere. Thought it was Yardley but haven't found it in Education of a Poker Player.

Regardless of how true it is, I've been using it as a tool to teach people how to think about poker (i.e. if your bluffs never get called, you're not making the money you could on your value hands)

If there's anything, it's "that"; i.e. bluff more (or less) often until you hit the appropriate frequency, which you will recognize has happened because you're getting called half the time.

The goal isn't to get called half the time (so), the consequences aren't the focus of the sentence (and)... "Because" might work, but it's not what I remember and it feels incomplete (since the goal includes getting value on strong hands as a side-effect)

Today, I heard from a dealer in the room that the room is closing. There is suppose to be an all dealer mandatory meeting tomorrow morning, May 19th, 2017 at 9:30 am.

During this meeting the dealers are to be informed about all of the specifics (when, what jobs they may transfer to - if any, what will happen with the jackpot money, etc.).

I don't think this should come as a major surprise given how lack luster the poker room as been in terms of the number of games they get.

I am surprised that they remained open as long as they did.

I was listening to a podcast, and the interviewee was talking about how important it is for poker players to communicate with other pros in order to improve. So I was thinking there should be an app for pro poker players to find each each other, meet up, and engage in sweat sessions.

We could call it Grinder or something.

What do you guys think?
