It just makes no real sense to me why someone like you an economist puts so much time into this(effort). Altruism? (lol)
I dont understand your motivation for this.
Obviously rails like me are thankful for those posts although i gotta admit, generally we tend to be more stupid and therefore just happy to get some infos about those interesting games with huges summs we will maybe never earn in our little existence/lifetime. (you will never hear a thx normally )
I enjoyed your posts, dont be mistaken. I am a huge pokerfanboy.
Dont understand your motivation to post. I dont see your gain here.
There is no monetary gain so it has to be psychologicly.

I'd personally read your autobiography fwiw
[QUOTE=Wilbury Twist;42371143]I'll grant that the one guy looks like Alec Torelli, and could easily pass for his brother. But the guy in the blue jacket doesn't look anything like Nam Le.
Hans – Not everything has to be done for personal or financial gain. I love the game of poker as a game. The industry around it and many of the players in it leave a lot to be desired sometimes but such is life. If I have any agenda its to promote poker in Asia (or about Asia) and to show people a bit of what happens in the crazy world of the Macau High Stakes (as it is so different to what happens elsewhere – not just the quantum but attitude to slow rolling, laughing at bluffs etc). I am involved in poker at many levels, we own the APT (Asian Poker Tour) and some online gaming poker brands and am launching some open face stuff but deliberately try and stay away from posting here about these.
Steve – I am not a westerner, only half, German Mum, HK Chinese/Eurasian Dad, am actually 3/8th Chinese, so I grew up with both cultures and my family have been in HK since the 1800’s. I used to be in finance and got into online gambling around 14 years ago through some odd circumstances and from there its one of those classic “right place, right time” stories. Asia was lagging behind the US and European markets online and my contacts and expertise (sorry hate that word, as my mentor used to say – “expert” – “ex” as in has been and “xpert/spurt” – drip under pressure) were in asia and the rest is history. Have been offered some nice advances to write a book, but the way our industry works in Asia, probably not to smart to do whilst I’m still in it. Then if I’m being honest why write an autobiography – 9 times out of 10 that has to be to satisfy some sort of ego issue. I’m just a guy that has done OK in business (and there are a gazillion of those out there). Admittedly my life may be a little more unorthodox with a few more parties than most, but I’m no global sportsman / athlete / Nelson Mandela that’s actually really achieved something in life. I don’t count making money as something that qualifies you to tell other people about it. If you ever come to an APT event and we have a players party, you will be sure to hear a few ridiculous stories if I’ve had a few glasses of wine!!
Wilbury – Nam has been at the LAPC events for last week (and just got busted out the Main) so it’s not him☺
