Can anyone give updates? People that usually updated this thread are gone, now this rumors of 8 figures pot appear from nowhere and we can't know if they are real or not.

Why would Jouhki lie? It wasn't posted by some random forum troll, he's a finnish poker player who is currently in Macao.

Hmm so 89M hk$. Blinds being 20k/40k, that's 2225 bb. I'm interested in rough amounts so let's just divide that by three. 742 bb's per player (let's assume they were all even for simplicity's sake). I read that at least some of the games were 11-handed(!). AK/JJ/TT sound pretty light get-it-in hands for that game iyam. There likely was a straddle, though.

Anyway, a trip report and further details demanded ITT!

durr said he was playing equivalent of 10k/20k USD not HK$. I think guy who suggested 20k/40k was talking about USD.

and obv super awesome for durr.. but i think this is only means longer time until his return to FTP.. b/c if he's a winner out in macau he will play until everybody quits him

The more I think about the hand the more I think it is BS. He must have been sitting with close to $4m in front of him. He is rich, but not rich enough that this sum is not a large proportion of his bankroll. I just can't believe he would get that in with AK preflop, when he can't jave more than a tiny edge over his opponents holdings...

Durrrr should have stood up after shipping 8 figures in one pot and said "DOES THIS LOOK LIKE A MAN THAT CAN BE BEATEN BY JACKS????" (or tens)

Being unwilling to get allin preflop with AK when you are super deep is not nitty in the slightest, especially when the sum in front of you represent a big chunk of your net worth. I am guessing the big blind was substantially below $40k so this is not 100bb poker...

you have no idea what his networth is, you dont know what the blinds were, youre just wildly speculating.

also, the game has been running on and off for months now, so assumptions about dwans net worth are really just shots in the dark at this point.

agree w/ u.. but we do know that durr said he went into nit-mode for the few hands when straddles were on to bring the game to 10k/20k.. and that he was mostly playing smaller. not saying he wouldn't ship AK which is a ridiculous assertion.. but am saying that we need more proof to confirm validity of the story

Well of course it is speculation. But if he won a three handed pot of $11.5m he must have had almost $4m on the table. It seems far fetched to suggest he has won more than $40m so $4m must be decent chunk of his bankroll.

As for the blinds, all reports so far suggest blinds far lower than $40m. There are also reports of tables getting very deep and the tables increasing the minimum buyin for new players as the action gets deeper and deeper to ktry to keep everyone at the table deep.

Obviously the info coming out of Macau is extremely sketchy, but getting $4m in preflop in a deep game with anything but AA is a very brave thing to do unless you have a Guy Liberte magnitude of wealth in my opinion (or just have a major gambling problem)

getting TT, and JJ for that matter, is considerably more speculative.

If said hand actually took place, there's probably a good chance that Dwan was doing the betting (shoving) rather than the calling

From mid-November ITT. Looks the hand referred to earlier may be a new hand, but the hand shown in my post helps to provide some context as to why durrr would feel good shipping AK.
