Posted on Nick Raineys twitter over the last days. Not a lot of info, but knowing him this should get interesting.

hello Cake Poker, done with PokerStars. All I wanted was someone to say hi or wish me luck, but my 100k in rake a year isn't enough.

I was deep in the main event and figured that PokerStars would be more then happy to sign me to a patch/hat deal. I was top ten in chips I believe going into day 3 when we all joined up.

ESPN is likely doing a small piece on my tennis background as well since i played on the feature table.

But Pokerstars said they would not offer me any deals because I had 5 flags for collusion on my account. I was not aware of this accusation until after I had busted out. I played at the feature table with no patches or hat.

I immediately emailed PokerStars security because i had never been warned for collusion or had any idea of these flags. Their response is below.

This mistake on Stars part cost me a lot of money and potential income.

Hello Nicholas,

Thank you for your response.

I can see that yes you have previously been reported for collusion, but this
is actually not at all uncommon with high volume players like yourself. I
cannot provide you with more information non the actual reports themselves, but I can confirm that in all incidences you were found to be innocent.

I hope that this clarifies the matter for you.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further assistance.

Regards,

wow what an epic fail by pstars support. Do they not want to sponsor any high volume players???
07-19-2010 , 12:39 AM
wow that's outlandish.
07-19-2010 , 12:39 AM
LOL.

i have enjoyed my experience on PokerStars and always impressed with how fast support responds, but in this case, there was an obvious lack of communication with the marketing and support departments.

I am not the type of guy who just takes beats like this, PokerStars has lost me as a customer other then the occasional Sunday Million.

yeah who cares, ftp > stars anyway
07-19-2010 , 12:43 AM
It sucks that stars didn't offer you a deal based on such flimsy reasoning but they're under no obligation to pay you any patch money. Its their marketing budget, they are free to use it as they see fit.

Why didn't you just get a patch deal with another site?

Imagine the morning of Day 6 being told PokerStars doesn't want you to wear a hat or patch on the ESPN feature table. I was pretty shocked and tried to just focus on poker, but I knew something weird was going on and it was upsetting. The agent who was talking with PokerStars did not explain the exact details until I was done playing.

the main agent on day4/5 was pushing deals with stars over any other site. I saw the guy sign up around 10 people at end of day 4 and come day 5 they were all playing under the stars badge...

i found the agents to be blowing hot and cold...best friend one second and treat you like ***** the next.

What laws are they breaking?

I don't get it. Is Stars obligated to sign you to a deal for some reason that we don't know about?

I am not going to wear a patch of a site or company that I do not believe in. Had offers from plenty of rooms, but was not interested.

My point is that I am one of their top customers and not going to stand for being treated like a bronze star. I bring a lot of business to PokerStars through my horses, training site, podcast and least they can do is treat me fairly.

Dude are you saying you played sub-optimal poker in the ME because you were so worried about why Stars wouldn't put a 20k day 6 patch on you -- and that you would have gone on to win millions?

Is that where they cost you millions?

Just trying to get it straight.
07-19-2010 , 12:49 AM
that does suck, feel for ya buddy
