Re: News: Russia shuts down all its legal gambling

Why care about the environment when you can focus on something as detrimental as gambling? Why care about the massive amounts of alcohol or drugs the general russian consumes every day when you can focus on gambling?

Seriously, the gambling industry require a union so these fkn *******s to politicians will have to struggle instead of just inflicting weird laws and such on us on a whim.

"Kremlin has offered the gambling industry only one option for survival: relocate to four regions in remote areas of Russia, as many as 4,000 miles from the capital. The potential marketing slogans — Come to the Las Vegas of Siberia! "

oh and I think this will actually have a positive effect on the Party games atleast. The Russians are either shortstackers or solid mid-high stakers. generally speaking.

Demidov posted that casinos will just "transform" to poker clubs, which are legal under the current laws. Things like Bj, baccarat etc will get hit no doubt

I suppose they might charge huge rake, but having house players and rigging the games would presumably be just as profitable.

I noticed that too, I figured PS had a marketing blitz or something going on. I didn't mind though, the ones I encountered weren't that good.

LOL @ nytimes...There is nothing remote about those four regions.
Baltic enclave of Kaliningrad (central europe) , the Primorsky region on the Pacific coast pretty (awesome location serving a lot of locals as well Chinese and Korean clientèle) , the Altai region in Siberia (Russian version of Aspen) and near the southern cities of Krasnodar and Rostov (home of 2014 Olympics ).
