Re: New Spanish poker regulation

So fkn dumb. It's time for a ¿¡Revolución!?

Also, I know two Spanish players that are not shortstackers and are bad for the poker economy as they take a lot off the tables. Well, half Spanish anyway.

Lo siento a mis amigos españoles, buena suerte hacer el mejor fuera de este

Kinda strange France didn't push for an EU poker pool. If nothing else the larger player pool and economies of scale should mean more revenue for the govts. I guess there is always hope that if enough countries push for country pools that will eventually morph into a Euro zone pool.

who the hell in these governments think a high raking monopoly is best? Fish bust quicker and games will dry up.
Routinely they don't think. They have no idea how poker economy works. They didn't ask any exerts they simply pass laws on something they don't really understand. Basically business as usual for the govt.

Hell I wouldn't force detainees at Gitmo to try and read that never ending wall of text.

Rake isn't at all what makes fish go bust.

Re: New Spanish poker regulation

Spanish drafts written this week define a table cap of 30 big blinds, and deposit restrictions would ensure that only small stakes games would run.

http://pokerfuse.com/news/law-legisl...nly-por-favor/

Not to surprising for Spain lol...

Joking apart, this is a ridiculous manifestation of the nationalization of online poker. Not only do regulating national governments seperate player pools, they also add brainless features like 30bb cap and insane rake. Obviously only people who have no clue about the game could think of this stuff.

This development is very dangerous for the survival of online poker. I already warned about this a long time ago:

Seems like reality now is even worse than my worst nightmares from two years ago...

Re: New Spanish poker regulation

It's looking like it's happening on 1st January 2012.
Pokerstars.es is apparently all set to roll, and Ongame is ready for both Spain and Denmark to have segregated sites in the new year.

My own country is being more sensible. "UK Opposes EU-Wide Control as Countries Prepare for New Year’s Regulation"
