New pokersite New pokersite

So pokerstars has now become a gaming site rather than what it used to be, a poker site that primarily was player versus player as a a game.
I don''t care about Amaya as a plc regarding their decisions.
What I do think is, that there is a place in the market for a new site to take all their poker players away from them.
A new site should go rake free and that will be their selling point.
They would need a huge backing to market it and to buy a platform but I thin'k it would be a good investment.
I don't think online poker is dead, stars number shows its healthy.

Flame away.

But if the site was rake free, how would it be a good investment? Rake is traditionally how a poker site made its money.

There have been few rakefree sites and there is a reason why these sites don't operate anymore.

So it would be non-profit organisation? Cool.

Yup. The big hole in this, the 56th version of this thread.

In before "it could be ad-supported!"

And there's the rub.

Very few would be willing to pay a suitable fee IMO. Most importantly, the players who would be least willing to pay a quarterly fee would be those you most want on the site.

Rake is a pretty good payment model.

You need to think how you're going to stop collusion, bots and all kind of possible cheats.
