I definitely thought it was odd he's been selling action to $200's $300's etc and doing so at 2.0+ markup. Essentially freerolling 50% in each of the tournaments he's played for sale on YouStake.

Yah, the quoted tweet is him selling to the Milly Maker and people asking for links to buy, etc. A lot of people chiming in the comments trying to get people to avoid the buy but it's pretty sad what he's doing.

He probably had 20% of himself. Then taxes and some shots in big buy in tournaments and a few years of traveling/playing and losing it's easy to see why he would be broke

My understanding is the staking sites deal with all of the $ in these situations, so obv it seems like hes a scamming scum bag but I think the staking sites will pay people and they are the ones at risk of getting scammed (hence why they take a % fee from every stake on their site I would assume they have liability to some extent)

Unless my Twitter skills are lacking, it seems his account has been deleted. Also, an update to the OP:

Not that intentions mean a lot until they're made good on, of course.

What are the chances that Mr. Beckley actually filed bankruptcy, regardless of what he told the guy he owed money to. I am not saying he did not do so, just wondering if OP verified it actually took place.

This isn't a surprise to me seeing Josh has been named in various threads like this one over the years:

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/5...uette-1626499/

As I understand it this poster was scammed out of $6000 by someone using a Twitter account and twoplustwo account that were previously controlled by Beckley. Beckley claimed that the Twitter account had been hacked as well as the twoplustwo acount and the hacker had been the one scamming.

A profession which is based on exploiting people and where large sums of money abound attracts those of a scummy presuasion?

Whoda thunk it.

Well...you live and you learn (at any rate: you live)

It is rumored in Florida circles that he owes a lot of people money. He was also mentioned in the thread for the guy who was crushing OFC and not getting paid because of cheating allegations. If I recall correctly, that was also for five figures.

None of this seems to bother Beckley at all....Good on chance for sending this out, IMO.

this is a pretty sick thread. "hacker" gains access to josh 2p2, twitter and stars accounts. posts the next days on twitter like nothing happened. not outed as a known scammer, it just goes away.

if you see something fishy like this, make a post in the negative feedback thread. ive done it myself for transactions i wasnt involved in, and the person got scared and stopped posting. he was a prolific action seller who got caught underpaying his packages. we can all help each other.

it looks josh is banned on this site (asdf26), but it doesnt say when. it would be a shame if he was banned and no post was made.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/2...forums-549322/ this is where to post

yea post to twitter like chance did, but this thread is very important too. its a near 5000 post database of all known poker scammers, easy to search.

i just made a post about josh with all relevant information. you can get the next one. thanks gl.

How much of himself did he have in the ME when he took 2nd? Is it really that easy to punt off so much money?

he played like a terrible nit at the ft (not just saying that, go back and watch) so i can imagine he dusted off buyin after buy after.

inflated ego/expenses/taxes/degenerate spending, pretty easy to dust it.

if he had 20% that leaves like 500k or something after taxes. he was playin 25ks lol.

see ya money.

theres a lesson here folks, theres nothing wrong with being a degenerate gambler, chasing losses, making bad bets. hey live your life. but that day will come along, when u are looking at your screen and its over. do u accept its over or do you steal. hes a scumbag who stole, i live in a poker town in mexico so ive met many people who have chosen the same path. you can kinda tell beforehand who will do it. idk. just law of averages. some people are ******ed scuz. the world is good ty.

I've heard Matt Glantz had a big piece of him - can't confirm though.

It's surprising how some people on that thread where he supposedly got hacked pretend to/believed that he got hacked.

****in mclovin....I actually kinda thought he was a decent kid and could be successful. Played with him every night for a while in a home game a decade ago. Was surprised when i heard all the bad stuff about him even before his wsop score. He was in soo much debt and had such a small piece of himself id be surpirsed if he actually touched more than 300k from that.

So, after he told OP it seems ...

btw, did he name all his creditors, like OP, in his filing ?

Chance is NOT listed as a creditor.

However, the way the bk law works is that if it is a no asset Ch 7 bankruptcy case such as this (no non-exempt assets that can be liquidated), it does not matter if a specific creditor is unintentionally omitted. The debt will still be discharged and the bankrupt will no longer be legally obligated to repay that debt, unless the specific creditor had a legal basis to object to the discharge (such as debt incurred by fraud) and could not timely do so due to the lack of notice of the bankruptcy.

In this case, the deadline to object to the discharge of the debt based on fraud is July 22, 2019. This might also explain why Josh recently told Chance that he always intended to pay him back (thus, no fraud).

After the bk discharge, repayment of the debt would simply be optional since it can no longer be legally enforced.

I will say that this mostly looks like someone who is simply having some financial difficulties at this time and not much more. That is life - does not
make someone a bad person. This does not look anywhere to me to be like the clusterf*ck that was and is EDOG, who among other things got some really bad bankruptcy legal advice (twice failed bk filings, once in San Diego and a second time in Las Vegas) and is left with many unresolved tax and legal problems.

He is young. Perhaps a change in professions to something with more stable income and less variance would be the best outcome and decision for Josh.
