his calculations already assumed that 7sc = 0,07$, which is value of cash bonus in the store. What did you think he was calculating?

ty, I thought since it was stated that you are going to lost 50% of your SC I thought, +EV means, win 0,001 of SC every time we bet one of them

When the JP is 750K the EV in a 70 coins game is about $ 1,15. As coins are limited (except for Jorj95) you better save them for when the jackpot is really high instead of playing when it passed BE point. At some point it may be worth to play the 7 coins game every 12 hours.

Re: New no-skill Stars game: "The Deal"

Does Stars take a cut from this promo? If not, surely this promo can't be -EV like people suggest.

https://www.reddit.com/r/poker/comme..._deal_jackpot/

In this thread Jaime Staples made an interesting comment:
Quote:
Well it's money coming from other people playing it more then once. My understanding is 3c jackpot 3c prizes 1c next jackpot. jackpot is broken down 50/50 winner and all participants.
3coin comes back in non jackpots prizes
1coin goes to the next jackpot (a loss of 1coin if you miss it)
1.5coin goes to progressive winner (even chance)
1.5 coin goes to everyone that played (this is where we make money because your chances are not improved for this pool by playing more then once. So you contribute 1.5coin and someone contributes 100 coin you are +ev)
So hence, does this ring true about whether it is +EV?

Quote:
If you follow the rule of playing only every 12h for 7 starscoins then it most definitely it is. The money comes from the people playing way more than just once every 12h.

No but I don't think he'd straight up lie either. He's just telling people how to profit from it, like he might tell people how to profit from tournaments in his streams.

Based on some prior posts, I think there has been a little bit of confusion / misunderstanding about this game, so here is some background information:

The Deal is a progressive jackpot game that we’ve been offering on FullTilt since 2015 and are now offering to both FullTilt and PokerStars players.

Our website explains the rules here:
https://www.pokerstars.com/poker/promotions/the-deal/
The Deal is a zero-sum game with all entry fees going back into the prize pool. In other words, the house does not rake this game. The prize pool is allocated as follows:
  • For every 7 StarsCoin used to play The Deal, we add $0.028 to the progressive jackpot - 77% goes into the current jackpot and 23% is set aside for future jackpots.
  • The rest is distributed to players in the form of regular prizes.
  • Each jackpot starts from $25,000.

When someone hits the jackpot, the prize is split with 50% going to that player and the other 50% being shared equally among all players who participated in at least one hand in The Deal over the previous 12 hours (the distribution is an equal share, regardless of the number of Deal hands played).

Anybody else just get $1.23? lol ...

Guess that's a lot lower than the shared payouts used to be on Full Tilt, where there was hardly any traffic ...

I assume the odds are horrid on this game (would not be hard to check), but a dormant account with 14 starcoins will have something to do in theory.
I don't immediately see it available in Australia. Not that I've really gone looking too hard - if it's not easy to see in the main client. It did come up in my 'news' feed.

I don't believe Aus Stars hosts the Casino games either.
