The NBA isnt against it. and the NHL will not be either. The NHL already allows betting on hockey through its sport select in Canada.

Vegas seems like it would/could support an NBA team more than an NHL one.

The new $350M arena is already being built by MGM Resorts and AEG.

Live hockey is entertaining, the comp tickets alone will fill the place up and league revenue sharing will ensure the team doesn't go busto.

Gary Bettman, the long time commissioner of the NHL is a pretty smart guy, his business savvy helped turned a sport that wasn't very popular in the USA into the financial powerhouse it is today. Some of current NHL teams and players are now in the top tier for all pro sports franchises in terms of income and revenue.

If there is money to be made in the LV market, Bettman will be there to make it happen. They'll probably end up with a semi-pro team owned by one of the current NHL teams.

If DN is part of an ownership scheme, unless he has much deeper pockets than previously thought, it's a micro share.
