The nbc heads up $25k invitational returns to caesars palace jan 24-26.

This is great news.

Two new invitees are will failla and andy frankenberger.

I assume greg merson will get an invite and pius heinz. Unsure who else gets in since now two years of eligibility.

As a viewer, I hope not. But I suspect somewhere, someone decided the faster, short-stack model makes the best TV.

Pretty funny how poker is banned in America yet they still put on good shows like this advertising the game.

Meanwhile stars with the rest of the world at their feet cancel the big game, hsp and we get a 2am showing of the party poker games.

Well, no. Poker as a whole is not banned here, just our access to the online version of it. Furthermore, the NBC Heads Up telecast's primary sponsor was not an online poker site. So if anything, this is one of the few poker shows whose continued airing does not surprise me. It is less reliant on backing from one of the big online sites, unlike The Big Game and Poker After Dark, which are adverts for online poker.

This show was a huge hit among the recreational players. I used to always hear the very casual players talking about at the tables because they love it, and because of that, this is great news!
Also, I think this show, with it's very laid back and "fun" atmosphere really shows poker in it's best light to a huge audience.

cheap time fill for their nbc sports network. Worked well for ESPN
