Cops found Jason Funke at a church on Warm Spring naked and with a gun. Apparently he worships there and was meditating outside the premises. Funke finished 490th in the Main Event a few weeks ago. Cops say he was on LSD, pot, and booze.

Yikes, I'm now reading about this incident. It's actually pretty sad, at least, based on what was reported. Sounds like he was even attempting a "suicide by cop." The guy has some serious issues, hope he gets some help.

He tangled with Polk in the 2017 WSOP:

"I just wanted to pick on Sam," Polk said. Eventually Polk called and Funke showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for a missed flush draw and ace high while Polk had the best hand with {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and he took down the pot.

Wonder if the dog mauled his dong at the end.

If the police reported $30k, he most likely had at least $60k. This drugged out degen suicidal kid who just got shot in the shoulder wouldn't remember if his bankroll got skimmed!

If you move toward a weapon with police present you should expect to be shot. No matter what you have heard or believe, a cop's first duty is to make certain both he and his partner finish their shift alive.

That said, good on the cop for not unloading on naked dude in his center mass.

Considering their past as noted in the thread and how well Doug is doing, maybe Doug can reach out to him to trade some life-coaching to this guy for some fitness help as both would seem to be able to benefit from the strengths of the other.

I heard from friends who are acquaintances with him that he has passed away.

Mental health is no joke. It's impossible to know what he went through but no one deserves it. RIP.

This is jason f. from aria, plo player very quiet. Bellagio 10 20 players would know him too. Hes still alive. Shooting was 10 days ago

Cops did right thing. Drugged out naked man running back toward a gun, outside a church where preschool children are inside huddling in a corner, Funke is damn lucky to be alive.
