Epic story, this will have NVG regs with a steady boner for weeks.

Seriously though having worked in hotels it is very easy for any duty manger, porter or even reception staff to do this easily without too much detection. Pretty obvious it is an inside job.

My best advice would be burn, piss on, snort your remaining drugs on the laptop and throw it in the nearest river.

It's advisable to call the police and file a report, even though it's not likely to accomplish anything.

Down the road, say one month from now, the perpetrators might be able to execute identity theft and steal a large sum using info they have lifted. In that event, it will be helpful to have filed a report at the time of the initial incident.

This has happened before, guaranteed. If this was their first time implementing this plan, they would do a trial run with only one person to see if it would work. They wouldn't try to hit multiple people with an unknown scam on the first run. This has definitely been done before and succeeded before.

Right now here in ept barcelona? Which day did you speak with the security? Did they tell you about any similar cases? The exact same thing, as in first the laptop was missing and then returned?

when i was in vegas 1 month ago some chick stole a 1Kchip from me at the bellagio. i immediatly called security and told them to check cameras, but they denied and wanted me to fill a form. might not be helpfull in this case but its sickening to me if some shady things happen why they dont immediatly check cameras or find some stupid excuses.

Someone from hotel obv provided your room numbers, i just wonder why they didn't delete room entry logs (probably didn't have that kind of access).
Pokerstars reaction was also bad, even worse since you are highstakes player...

Please tell me you've spoken to the police about this. I mean.. obviously the police should be involved in something like this regardless, because a crime has been committed. In addition to that, it seems incredibly likely that some of the people that claimed to be investigating this were in on it, so people from outside really need to be brought in.

Crazy/scary. I don't understand why you didn't just gtfo the hotel and get to somewhere else safe as soon as you realized someone has easy access to your room and things, maybe even when you are sleeping, and the phone calls etc etc... I would have left there asap.

If you want push the envelope hard go and tell about this on Tripadvisor.
It will hurt their business so bad and they have to try harder.
Tripadvisor is so important these days... in Paris one manager asked me to write a review when I praised their customer service

I was a bit wtf... 5 star hotel employee asks me this...so it has to mean a lot.

So sick...Any high stakes player that stayed there should destroy the laptop, buy a new one, and change every password to everything. Probably a good idea to put your own hidden camera in your hotel room in the future that alerts you on phone when any movement happens.

the other thread should either be re-opened or stickied for the next few days rj. don't wanna complicate 2p2er's discussion on anything, and also its good to have a post about computers being hacked in arts on nvg, so that anyone who has something funky going on will read it. i could easily imagine myself not opening this nvg thread and losing a bunch of money, however if i stayed at the arts i'd read the other one (that clearly talks about hacked computers) every time.

mine was in Berlin Jason's in a different city entirely.
