Apparently the pot was awarded and the players only noticed after reviewing the photo later.

Usually there are multiple posts like this a year. I'd say WSOP is improving

I'm posting this statement for a friend because he doesn't use 2p2.

"Ok so this really happened. Last night I was playing the 1500 PLO event. It was midway through level 8 with blinds at 300-600. I'm the small blind with a stack of roughly 20k. UTG +2 opens for a raise and gets one other caller and I flat in the small blind with AcAd5cJh. Big blind flats as well.

Flop is Qh72cc and i had NFD. I check/call raisers bet and we are heads up. Turn As, I check, he bets 3500, I pot and get it allin vs his QsQcJd7h. Qh hits river for quads but nobody including me realize both red Queens are hearts. I even take a picture and don't realize the two Qh and the hand ends and I am left with 2900 and bust soon after.

I post the beat on facebook with the picture included and then one of my friends realizes that both queens are hearts!!! So I contact wsop staff and talk to Jack Effell and Kris not sure what his last name was and while they apologized it happened, they explained that I could not get any form of compensation since attention wasn't called to it right away despite the picture evidence. Had I won this pot or even not lost it, I would have more than likely made the money, instead we are here"

That sucks and the WSOP sucks but really nothing the floor can do after the fact. It's a shame that he didn't realize it when it happened. If he had, and he had called the floor over, something would have been done.

So what is the ruling if this happens in a cash game? Do the players involved in the pot get their money back?

How the hell does no one at the table notice??? There's a dealer getting paid to be there and a handful of players who paid to play and not a singe one noticed this?

This is from the $1500 PLO, victim of hand is a good friend of mine. Didn't see the hand happen itself, but he posted the picture on fb immediately after and a friend of his noticed.

Lol WSOP.

And yeah also pretty absurd no one noticed, how does your friend not notice especially with the both hearts being on the board almost next to each other?

Also, looks like Jeff might be in trouble.

I presume that if its noticed before the pot is shipped, the river is just redealt

if not noticed then pot is pushed "as normal"

I am not a TD but I think while unfortunate, by the book the casino is correct. Once the next hand is dealt out, the time period to contest a hand is over.

I think that the hand would have declared a miss-deal, play would have been reconstructed and all bets returned if this had been brought to the floor's attention.

I think, if noticed before next hand is dealt, all chips in are returned.

The usual rule is that the hand is nullified and everyone is returned all the money they invested.

Given that the player knew his opponent was drawing to exactly a one-outer, I don't understand how he could not have noticed that it wasn't the right card.

As a former dealer, I think this is actually correct as much as it sucks.

I think that I've arrived at a more likely hypothesis which perhaps you could find more believable...

Could be since the dealer didn't raise 3cards on the board...he has QQQQA.

Photoshop seems way more likely than a table full of players + a dealer not noticing 2 queen of hearts sitting almost right next to eachother. And the guy who takes the picture doesn't even notice until the next day?

Moot point any way... the statute of limitations has expired. Kinda ridiculous for the guy to expect a refund at this point. That opens up the door to everybody taking photos of their bust out hands, photo shopping them, and posting online the next day,

The photo was put on Facebook last night more or less directly after the bust out. The two queens weren't noticed until this morning. It was not photoshopped.
